What can I expect to see from ISU this year?

I'm obviously a TTU fan, but am curious as to how ISU will do this year. I really know very little about this years team. Is this a young team? What realistic record do you see. From what I saw last year there was a lack of consistent quality QB play. I think had that been different ISU would have had an even better season. Thanks for any information.

Younger team but more athletic, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Should be better offensively but would think we'd give up more points than last year. I'd expect 5-7 wins and improved QB play. That's just my opinion

White helmets, a Retro Jack Trice jersey for either Iowa or Texas, and over 50,000 for every game

Other than that it's for time to decide

Lots of unknowns for us going into the season. Pretty young team. Think we have something like 16 seniors on the team. I'm expecting anywhere from 3-7 wins, 1-4 from Big 12 play.

You can also expect to see Jack Trice throwback jerseys.

Re: What can I expect to see from ISU this year?

Young Defense. First time in what seems like a decade we have a starting QB named prior to the season. He showed good signs in the small sample we had last year, but tough to predict. Great stable of RB's, solid WR's. OL will make or break the season. To be honest, I am a little pessimistic on the OL, but hope I am wrong.

DL is young, early signs point to a weak point, but there is some raw talent there. LB are obviously a drop-off from last year, but are still going to be productive. Secondary loses its best corner, but should be equal if not improved. Safeties are very strong.

Basically, on paper it looks like we will have a slightly better offense, and a slightly worse Defense. I think anywhere from 5-7 to 7-5 is reasonable.

Re: What can I expect to see from ISU this year?

Quite young. Young QB who finished the season. Young WRs. Young D-line. Young corners. A lot of redshirt freshman in the 2 deep. But the hope there is these young guys have beat out the returning talent. That's encouraging. Returning safeties and LBs who have seen the bullets fly last season. Hopefully a better O-line. Fighting for bowl eligibility is expected. Offense should be much better just given we shouldn't be having a season long QB battle. Defense will hopefully get better as season goes.

Re: What can I expect to see from ISU this year?

The offense will run a lot of plays out of the pistol formation this fall.

The offense could be better, but that's unproven. The defense should be worse, but that remains to be seen.

I think the ISU-Tech game could be a bit of a shootout; advantage to Tech with the home field, but if ISU can win the turnover battle we will have a shot.

Re: What can I expect to see from ISU this year?

I'm not sure anyone knows what to expect. Could we win 8 games? I could see that happening. Could we also only win 2 or 3 games? I could see where some would think so. It's really a toss up this year, but I'm optimistic. I honk 5-6 wins from this young team is attainable.

Appreciate the questions and interest. The only problem is, we don't really know yet, either.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Good write up but I honestly believe Jansen Watson is a better cb than Reeves, Watson is way more physical and athletic.

You can expect a Cyclone win in Lubbock.
