apparently it wasn't just a cash offer, it was half cash and then 2 players. I would bet Tottenham is holding out for a 100% cash offer.

Is it still 85 million? I think that's the last I heard. If that's true I don't know how Spurs can turn it away, that's an absolutely insane amount of money. They've proven before they're not afraid to sell top flight players ie. Modric and Berbatov, but Bale is certainly on a slightly different level.

The only thing is if they sell him are they basically dooming themselves to a mid-table or worse finish this season? Where do they replace those 20+ goals?

This is the last news I saw, all these transfer rumors are dodgy at best though it seems, but this says 85 million all cash, no players.

that's a newer article than the one I was referring to.

It's a huge amount of money but I don't see how they make the Champions League without him, they're a borderline team with him. I don't care how much money they get they won't be able to replace him this season. I hope he stays just because I watch a lot more Premier League than La Liga.

They are also supporting NBC Sports Live Extra which is the online streaming service that you can supposedly use on smart phones, tablets, computers, etc. So essentially DirecTV subscribers (assuming you subscribe to a tier that includes NBC Sports Network) will be able to watch all PL matches either on TV or online.
Now, my question is whether or not you'll be able to watch games online AFTER they have been played, and if the announcers will constantly give score updates(hopefully not). This was a great benefit to FoxSoccer2Go.

    Re: 2013 Premier League

Selfishly, I'll be disappointed if Bale leaves the PL. He was so much fun to watch last season. But I'd agree that Tottenham would be crazy to not cash in on his value right now. As far as replacing his production, you can't really count on one guy stepping in and filling that void individually. I think the biggest thing they could do is find a couple of consistent strikers. Defoe is getting older, is often hurt, and isn't always the most consistent and Adebayor is one of those guys who looks good getting off the bus but doesn't really have the production to back up his reputation.

They've been linked to a move for Roberto Soldado which I think could be a smart play and take away some of the sting of selling Bale. Soldado has scored 59 goals in La Liga for Valencia over the last 3 seasons including 24 last year. I don't think that production will translate exactly to England, but I do think Soldado could help them get some more consistent scoring punch out of the forward position.

Easy. Dempsey steps in and scores 35 goals this year and leads Spurs to their coveted CL berth.

It's not a decision I would want to make for sure, but 85 million would buy a lot. I also have a hard time believing that Bale is worth 85+ million but if Madrid is willing to pay I'd have a hard time not selling.

    Re: 2013 Premier League

Lots of Dempsey rumors flying around lately. He was spotted in the SF airport so there's some speculation that he was meeting with Everton officials there about a possible transfer. This after there was some initial speculation that he was going to the Sounders. I didn't quite understand the logic behind that though.

Seems odd, if you're still capable of playing in the best league in the world, which he is, why do you come home and play in the MLS? I mean it's a big win for the MLS for sure, but for Dempsey I'm not so sure.

Agree. Does he really want to play with his buddie EJ that much?
