    Direct TV vs. Dish Network

What's the best these days? Rural with no other options (cable).

Had both. DirectTV is better. I'm sure there will be argument though.

Had neither but Dish Network is clearly better so Janny is obviously a maroon.

I have Dish. Generally happy with it. The biggest complaint I have is ESPN U is not HD, and there were a fair number of ISU bball games on U. That almost got me to switch, and I still may. On the other hand, the Hopper with auto hop is awesome, but auto hop only works with prime time network TV.

This may have already been discussed but do we know if the new FS1, former speed, will be on the basic dish 120? Speed isn't but wasn't sure if they would move it to compete with espn

There's got to be at least 6 of these in recent history.

    Not sure.

What do you think of white helmets for the football team? (sorry, couldn't resist)

Have DirecTV & like it; however, I was irked when they raised rates a good chunk this past February. I called in March or April & said I would switch, but to no avail. I called again late June & was more 'lucky' that time as the dude signed me up for a reduced rate that was very worthwhile to stay. What helped me, though, was I had been a customer for over 7 years. There was one time in the past that I negotiated a lower rate while threatening to switch.

So, DirecTV was willing to switch in order to keep me, but it took some effort. Don't know how Dish on this aspect, though. Do know about Mediacom and their service stunk. They not an option for you, but that may be a good thing.
