    DirecTV and NFL Sunday ticket

I was under the impression that NFL Sunday Ticket was included with my package. This month they started charging me ($37 something a month for 6 months!). First, who in their right mind would pay that? Second, am I the only that thought it was included? Third, how long was the "promotion". I think I've had Direct for at least two years and had Sunday Ticket the whole time.

Promotion was for 1 year only, this is my second year having Direct and the gravy train is over this year (but if you call and threaten to cancel Sunday Ticket they give it to you for discounted).

I started getting charged this past month also. However, I have only had it one year (last year) and knew it was just a one year promotion. I was unaware they would automatically renew my subscription, but I just called and cancelled it. Pretty easy. I agree that the cost is WAY too expensive.

Yeah, promotion was only for one year and the sneaky thing is though I think it auto-renews at regular price after that.

Last year I signed up because they offered it at their lowest price ever, which was $199, but that price didn't include the RedZone channel. That is one thing Dish has over DTV if you are an NFL fan but don't want to pay for Sunday Ticket: RedZone is part of their regular sports pack.

While I agree the cost is expensive. I do think if you live in a market like Chicago, like I do, the ability to watch games other than the Bears it is totally worth it. No offense to Bears fans, but man do we get hosed on NFL coverage because of it.

I typically get to watch at minimum a half dozen Bronco games a year which is good enough for me, helps with them being on the west coast and being the late game frequently.

Re: DirecTV and NFL Sunday ticket

I remember paying $300+ for it a few years back. Its not worth it anymore. Packers games are on local tv most times. When they aren't, Ill drop 20 bucks and eat some wings at BWW and watch the game.

Yeah, this. We have it marked on our calendar to cancel before it goes into effect. Same deal for some of the movie channels, except those aren't free for as long.

The initial charge is too much. All you have to do though is say you will have your roommate put it under his name and get it free or they can just give you a nice discount on it. I use the same line every year and pay 150 for the entire season.

Re: DirecTV and NFL Sunday ticket

After calling Directv to see what kind of deal they could get me on Sunday Ticket Max and not getting any good offers, I just ordered
Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition with NFL Sunday Ticket from Amazon. For $99 you get the game as well as sunday ticket that you can watch on any PC, Tablet, etc. I'm hoping I can get this to work with my new chromecast.

Yep, I cancelled DirecTV because of this and went back to MediaCon. A few years back when I signed up with them they told me that this particular package would always include Sunday ticket. The monthly bill was marginally higher because of the includsion of Sunday ticket. Was a great deal, but then I started getting charged. I told them if they don't take it off I'm cancelling. They didn't take it off. So I cancelled.

Same thing here: got it last year for free. Getting charged last month since it auto renew, called to cancel it, got a discount offer and refused it (I don't watch a lot of NFL).

Just wanted to add, the RedZone channel is all kinds of awesome. If you're not looking to find full games of every team, like Sunday Ticket, RedZone is wall-to-wall, commercial-free football all day long Sunday. They just whip around from game to game, with the goal of showing you every touchdown as it happens, or right after it happened.

I have cable (ImOn in Cedar Rapids) and RedZone is less than $50 for the whole season. It's great.
