    KM switch

Is there such a thing? Notice I didn't say KVM switch. I don't need the V(video). I've searched everywhere and can't find a switch for just keyboard+mouse. I am assuming that having just KM would result in a faster switch but maybe that's not true. And if you're wondering why I would want such a thing... I have a laptop I do my work on and a PC that I use for a server/music player and to monitor CySpy. So, I want the PC monitor and laptop monitors (2 of them) on at the same time. Also note, I can't use a software solution (like Synergy) because I connect to a VPN for work and our client software disables LAN access. Any insight from you nerds out there?

    Re: KM switch

Just don't hook up the video ports and use the keyboard and mouse ports. Given the current pricing on lower end KVM switches, I can't imagine you'd save anything getting one without the extra circuitry.

Wouldnt it technically work the same way. Just dont hook up video. Although, Im not sure how the laptop would handle it.

That is a odd request, I take care of this now with virtualization and dual monitors.

    Re: KM switch

I was hoping that just having K+M would make it faster. The KVM switches I've used in the past took 4-5 seconds or more to switch and I assume most of that time is the video switching. I can't imagine switch k+m would take that long.

Explain please. I have dual monitors for my laptop and that is where I do my work. I want my music playing from my PC (I have a high-end sound card + speakers for that) and I want to monitor forums and personal stuff on it too. So, I need that monitor working at the same time as my laptop. I just want share k+m with my laptop (docking station of course) to free up space on my desk.

While I didn't search eHDMI.com for your request, they have lots of goodies at a VERY fair price.
