    Re: The Conjuring

Some guy got up and left in our theater half way through after a scary part and just said 'that's it, I'm out' and told whoever he was with to meet him across the street at the bar when it's over. haha

    Re: The Conjuring

Has an incredible 85% on Rotten Tomatoes right now. Pretty unheard of for a horror movie. And it made $17 million Friday...most were predicting maybe $24 million for the weekend but it could be closer to $45 million. Word of mouth is huge on this right now. It's really good.

    Re: The Conjuring

Saw it yesterday with my daughter. Was pretty good for a movie meant to scare and not just be a gross-out or torture-fest. I liked it a lot. My daughter? She recently has gotten into the scary movie genre and I took her with me. She was balled up in her seat at one point but her eyes were still glued to the screen. I have to be impressed that a movie with so little language and violence got the R rating. The fear factor alone just couldn't merit a PG-13.

    Re: The Conjuring

I saw it yesterday. I must be really jaded as I thought it was decent but not overly scary. There are some scenes that really make you jump so I give it credit for building enough suspense to do that.

I'm glad they didn't put any comic relief in it as I hate that. I'm not sure why but James Wan sure has a real hard on for weird looking dolls

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.

I don't think you're jaded. I think horror movies and comedy movies are really tough to gain massive all out appeal because everyone has their own thoughts on what is scary and what is funny. I went with a group of people and while everyone like it overall, some thought it was incredibly scary while a couple thought it was good but not great. One said it doesn't compare to The Strangers which I just don't think is that scary. It's all subjective.

There were two couples in front of us and by the time it was over, I couldn't even see the two girls' heads in front of me anymore they were so far down in their seats. Haha

I have heard that the trailers for this movie ruin/spoil some of the scares in the movie is this true?

Yes, but don't quite a lot of trailers spoil a lot of things in movies? That's nothing new to me I guess. I think the parts that scared me the most weren't shown in trailers at all.

I just got back from it. There were some pretty frightening moments. Hen I got home on knocked in the wall 3 times and my wife nearly passed out.

I got up in the middle of the night last night and acted like I was sleepwalking up against the closet door. My better half about passed out as well.

    Re: The Conjuring

just saw this movie enjoyed it. not the scarist I have ever been. These types of horror movies are more to my liking. I can stand the one with lots of gore in them.
