Re: MAILBAG: Predicting the big upset

I think ISU is more likely to win at KSU, but I think the TCU game would be a much bigger upset. I wouldn't be too surprised if TCU wins the Big 12 this year.

Re: MAILBAG: Predicting the big upset

Id like to know when the last time a former Big 12 South team has won at JTS in normal November elements (wind/cold)? Baylor (late October, but cold weather) and OK State couldnt handle the elements in recent memory. I think TCU will be a W for us next season.

Please let it be OU this year. I'll be in Norman for it.

But OSU wasn't even that bad weather wise in 2011.

It looks like in the old Big 12 we never really played the Oklahoma and Texas schools in the month of November, at least not when we were any good. So the jury is still out on that. Hopefully you're correct and TCU struggles in Ames.

Great video--almost looks like HD. Predates internet. Great come from behind victory, ala OK State.

Hope you are right about "let it be this year". Could be.

I was pretty damn cold sitting through half time with a sweatshirt, winter coat and hat on.

You should never forget pants I don't remember it being too bad. The people I went with swore up and down it was going to be harsh conditions but I was pretty comfortable for the most part. Maybe I was cold and just didn't notice because of the game.

Re: MAILBAG: Predicting the big upset

You Have Willie Scott starting against UNI in the opener, CW. Won't he be suspended a couple of games for "youthful indescretions" that do not involve artificial turf?

I realized that we are just tough young men. Resilient, really, Morris adds. A lot of people probably would have tucked their tail and tried to make moves but this group stuck together. Everybody is on the same page and that really told me a lot about the type of season we can have.

Yeah probably. I took the question more as, "who are the best four guys?"

I think we get Texas this year. Why, you say? Why the hell not.

Re: MAILBAG: Predicting the big upset

Considering ISU may be a Vegas-underdog in at least 8 games, two-thirds of the schedule could include an upset. But that isnt the underlying topic.

Taking into account the perceived strength of ISU and the rest of the league, here's a ranking of most-conceivable wins that would qualify as upsets:
    1. TCU
    2. at Baylor
    3. at KSU
    4. OSU
    5. Texas
    6. at OU

Order of upset-impact, if it were to happen this season:
    1. at OU
    2. Texas
    3. OSU
    4. at KSU
    5. TCU
    6. at Baylor
