DeAndre Kane has graduated, Officially Eligible to play next year

It is official, he has passed his Marshall courses and graduatated degree. While this was expected, It is good to know he will now be cleared, officially, and be playing for the Cyclones in game one.
(Let's face it ISU and the NCAA dont have the best history when it comes to expected eligibilty.)

DeAndre Kane now officially eligible at Transfer U, Iowa State | CollegeBasketballTalk

3-point shot: Read your contracts - Men's College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

Congrads to DeAndre for earning his degree and once again welcome to Ames, officially.

Is this how it feels to win all the time? I feel like we are so stacked this year. Young but stacked.

When the article talked about Transfer U and listed all the players, I wanted to (and actually tried to register to post, but it got messed up) say that, "All of which (the transfers) have been extremely successful upon moving to Ames".

I'm embarrassed to admit I did not know Kane was dismissed from the team ?? I vaguely remember he had an incident, but somehow missed the news item he was dismissed.

"..Iowa State’s DeAndre Kanereceived his degree from Marshall, making him eligible under the graduate transfer. Kane nearly committed to Pitt, his hometown program, after getting dismissed by Marshall coach Tom Herrion..."

Lots of good pub on ISU Basketball out there. The media loves THE MAYOR. We should be in the Top 3 of the Big 12 next year and in the mix to win the conference with Hilton Magic. Time to take a bigger step.

    GO CYCLONES!

I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, and the best part is that the team should only get better for the next few years. Has to be a Big 12 title for ISU somewhere in the next four years, right???

Re: DeAndre Kane has graduated, Officially Eligible to play next year

The respect is there. During this off season, ISU has had, a lot of stories/ or brought up a lot in articles. Niang is getting a lot of love too in recent national articles. It only helps us stay close to or be included in the Top 25 rankings. Which at season's end, helps us get a better seed in the tourney.

It's about time... this team will be pointed in the right direction under Hoiberg as well. I'm looking forward to the guys making some noise again this year...and for years to come under the Mayor. Our fan base deserves it.

Love the Kool-aid but Kansas should have the title locked up, and if they don't Oklahoma State will take it

No doubt those are the squads that we will have to go through to try and take the Big 12 title. I like for us to do very well in Hilton once again, (which is always nice). But there is no shame getting 3rd place this year as well with teams like that in the conference. Can't sleep on Baylor either.

Oh, and we'll be able to compete with them all again. Our guys will be up for the challenge.

I was thinking it was one of those things where he wasn't officially dismissed but it sounded like a mutual agreement to go somewhere else.

Re: DeAndre Kane has graduated, Officially Eligible to play next year

Looking forward to see this guy play in cardinal and gold this year. If anything, he's going to love coming from little old Marshall and playing in HILTON and seeing Hilton Magic in full force.

15 pts a game is nice, don't care what league you're in. Fred will need a little more out of him in the Big 12. Clyburn/McGee did it (coming from Mid-Major conferences), so can Kane. I really like that we landed him. (Got to have strong guard play in Fred's system, and we'll have it again.)

I also don't recall hearing about him being Dismissed. Maybe the writer meant "Released?"
