I would beg to differ. Especially after that buck tooth coach already left to a job that he will fail at.

At the end of the day it was a good run for fgcu, but they're still a school that was a community college 2 years ago. We'll likely never hear about them again.

Which I still say we got hosed by not winning. We should have won that category, IIRC instead some stupid hockey game won?

Ill put any dollar that if I get this ball again, Long said, Its going in.

Really? USC has nowhere to go but up and that coach has a similar offensive strategy to Fred.

8th Seed Kings winning the Cup. That was the only other one on contention. A great team/upset to lose too.

Can we stop with this? They began NAIA, went to D2 in 02 and began the D1 transition in 07.

It's all snark from here on out

    too.
I was (and still am for that matter) ticked off that beat out our upset for two primary reasons.
    1) That wasn't a single game "upset" and factored a whole playoff run. The award was best upset not best surprising postseason performance.
    2) ISU basically killed the BCS with that win and nobody saw it coming.

They were the first 8 seed to win the Stanley Cup. While its not single game, their winning the Stanley Cup was historical. Our win was historical for Iowa State. It had some giant complications for the title game and the BCS as a whole. There is a difference and I can see why the other won. I'm not mad. Beating OSU still means something even though we didn't win an award from ESPN.

Re: Eric McNight on the stage at the ESPYs

This thread smells of sour grapes. So what if he does or doesn't miss ISU? Him leaving looks like it worked out the best for both parties. Isn't that what we should want for everyone leaving ISU?

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

Agreed, there's no such thing as "upsets" in pro sports. They're all really good otherwise they would be professionals.

Who cares if he misses ISU? I was excited to see a former player that wasnt going to get any playing time here getting some national stage minutes elsewhere. Good for him either way and Eikmeier (sp)?

Re: Eric McNight on the stage at the ESPYs

If I'm not mistaken the Kings horribly underachieved to get the 8 seed and/or had injury issues playing a role as well during the season. It wasn't a typical 8 seed by any means. They were projected to be a legit SC contender before the season.
