Less 'chirpy' from our EIU this year

I wonder why. And actually I enjoy it. It seems the banter is more level headed and less uncivil. I truely believe the shock of last year has not worn off our counterparts.

I guess i would consider this blissful, while adding another reason why I enjoy beating/stomping/kicking/demoralizing EIU.

Has anyone else experienced this leading up to this years game?

Maybe they finally realized that talk'n too much smack can come back to haunt them. Last year they were all going off like old faithful about how great Tate/Young and those two LB's that they had were and look what happened to them last year. It's all about the Karma.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Even some hawk fans are admitting they're nervous about the game. I think after last year's hopes were dashed and the way iowa played last week, the hawk fans are a little more realistic in their expectations.

Yeah, I was hearing a lot of smack from my Hawk fan friends after they played Montana and we went to 3OT against Toledo.....but they're eerily quiet this week.

Maybe they did not go to Fairyland this year for vacation:

Re: Less 'chirpy' from our EIU this year

I think it has been quiet too but I also have stayed away from CR and CN this year and primarily stayed on CF. There aren't very many Hawk fans on CF so I think I have isolated myself from the smack talk. I'm also out of state so I don't see it in the news daily.

Re: Less 'chirpy' from our EIU this year

From my perspective living in the heart of Shmuckeye country......

Going into the game Shmuckeye fans were very nervous. After last year they now take us seriously and realize we can make them look very bad. We now have the respect of the Shmuckeyes!!

Most Shmuckeye fans walked away from the game Saturday still very nervous about the rest of the season. Shmuckeye fans are starting to see Iowa State as the first real competition of the season and a guage to go by. After the drunken stupper turns to a noctous hangover they realize they didn't look that great, it's kind of like waking up to an ugly women.

From the Shmuckeye perspective it's always a Shmuckeye state when the Sqwuaks win but NEVER a Cyclone State when the Cyclones win.

Why does Nebraska go down in rankings when losing to the #1 team in nation and Iowa goes up two rankings when they looked terrible against an unranked team?.....

It took everything they had to beat us and we exposed a lot of their offense and defense to the rest of the football world to see!! The Big Ten ten was drueling over this game with their TIVO recording.
