$500 donors getting kicked to the grass lots?

I have talked to a few people that had been in the $500 parking spots (B4:C4; B3:C3) for the 2012 but had been moved to the G6 grass lots for 2013. From what I understand, the donors that have been moved are ones that are on a payment plan and have only been given credit for what they have paid in when it comes to lot assignment time. I just wanted to know if anyone else has heard this and if the reasoning behind it is the payment plan issue.

On a separate note, I am a newcomer to Cyclone Fanatic, a recent alumnus of Iowa State University and am in a position to be a donor for the 2014 season. I tried to donate to get a parking spot and season tickets for the 2013 season but they were gone by the time I decided to go online. Is it about past donors given first rights therefore no new spots are available? I would be willing to donate for this year if I was guaranteed a spot for next year. I am by no means a master of "the system" and if someone out there has any advice, that would be much appreciated!

Payment plan should not matter... I do the 4 times a year payment thing, and I got bumped up because of a higher donation level. I think it is just the new cardinal members getting bumped down because of more donors. While this is a bad thing to individuals, this is a good thing for ISU.

It is based on priority points. The more points you have accrued the better your parking is.

If you are committed to donating $500 than you get credit for the entire donation.

I got into G7 at $100, but I've been donating since '09 and buying 2 tickets in all of those years. Seems likely I'll have to jump up to at least $250 next year.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this isn't right. If you are committed to say $1,000 for 2013 split four ways at the end of each quarter, you only get the points for what you've paid in by the cutoff date, not the full 100 points.

That is absolutely not true. It's all based on priority points.

So from what I understand it goes by points? If I were to donate $1000 would I be guaranteed a spot for next year? What is the time that you need to donate by for 2014??

You are partially right I think. It is based on donation level first (which would be what you've committed to, not what you've paid) then priority points. You probably don't get your priority points until after the current year.

Your donor level is the first criteria used, each member is then ranked within your level by the priority points you have accumulated

Sorry should have clarified; you get credit for the Donation Level you buy into (in this case $500). Then you get ranked based on points that you have accumulated.

Re: $500 donors getting kicked to the grass lots?

Priority points are calculated using several criteria. Longevity is the biggest factor. Here is a link describing it:
Cyclone Club Priority Points System - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports
The number if tickets you buy does not matter. A friend of mine that buys 20 football tickets gets no more credit than I do for my two.

By the way...there is such demand this year that the RV lots are full with long time donors being bumped to lesser lots. I've even heard a new RV lot is going to be opened up by Hilton. When you sell out a stadium for the year this is to be expected.

Re: $500 donors getting kicked to the grass lots?

Are you sure those individuals that are being bumped are $500 donors? The only reason I ask is I heard from my realtor this year that she was bumped out of the paved lots, but only donated $250. I know that this topic came up once before and it was due to individuals being able to get into better lots that require a higher donation because of the few individuals donating in that price range. For instance individuals donating $250 got in the $500 paved lots before due to not enough donors in the $500 range.
