    I don't know that.

I'm not even sure that Fred does. After all, he had a stark lesson on that kind of a move from his last college coach--Tim Floyd.

I don't think Fred goes to the NBA.

No real reason. I just don't see the point for a guy who's got it all.

That said, it's happened with every other fan base who thought that, so I could be wrong. If I am, I won't admit it, and I'll just keep assuming that I was always right.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

The NBA is the biggest challenge a coach could ask for. You are coaching the elite basketball players in the world. If he accomplishes what he wants here, I think there is plenty of reasons for him to go to the NBA.

Georges Niang@GeorgesNiang2019m@sportstalkmatt I said it as a joke can we not take this out if context! Hence that joke when he said he had enough Boston dealing with me
Perrault is even dumber looking than I figured. Never seen a picture of him before. No wonder he's a miserable ***-hole.

I'm with ya though, now days very difficult to not have stuff get out. I wonder what the coaches specifically say to them about social media and info that "doesn't leave the room" vs public knowledge? Some of it is obviously a give in (like, if say, QB x is starting this week instead of another, the team may know that, but won't share) but some may not be.

Hoiberg's text was a joke. Niang was fondly remembering it in the interview. Nothing more than this.

$5M/yr NBA vs $1.5M/yr college. Your choice.

My total guess is CFH will go for a steady Ames home life for another ten years and then go NBA coach.

    1) Just something to keep in mind...not all private jokes should be fondly remembered in a public interview.

    2) It wasn't exactly clear from the interview that Niang was joking about the "Hoiberg turned down the Celtics job" part.

In any case, I'm sure CFH can use this as a teaching experience if need be.

Good thing you will be getting paid more because your chances of having a reasonably lengthed tenure in the NBA are much smaller than in Ames. If you are doing it for the money, it probably should just be to build a nest egg because you are about to retire anyway. Too often a good coach is fired due to circumstances beyond his control in the NBA.

Exactly. And your success is largely determined by the competency of the GM and the "frugality" of the owner.
