    Johnny "Football" Manziel

What are everyone's feelings as to what the future holds for this kid?

Sounds like the Manning's booted him from the Manning QB Camp for partying too much. He's already had some off the field issues as well.

Has the fame already gotten to this kid? Where do you think he'll be in 5-8 years? He's not your prototypical NFL QB, so he might not pan out anyway? Or he could just end up ruining his chances altogether with his attitude.

    I think he'll be a bust personally.

I think he'll get his *** beat after he graduates because of his stupid nickname Johnny Football.

    Re: Johnny "Football" Manziel

The kid lacks humility. I'm sure growing up in a wealthy family and being the star of the football team has gotten him to believe that everything he does is all right.

I still for the life of me can't figure out why the NCAA allows this sort of thing. It's one thing to get courtside tickets to the NBA finals. It sounds like it is very possible that his dad can afford it (unlike many other college players we see doing this), but stuff like throwing out first pitches in baseball games should be seen as above and beyond normal college students.

Also, should the NCAA allow for athletes to take all their classes online as Manziel is? It just seems like a potential for major fraud.

Your first point is driven home by the second. He is allowed to get away with everything he does, thanks to his upbringing and how the school/NCAA handles it. Chances are it will catch up to him, but I enjoy the ride. Plus he is fun to watch.

His best bet is to somehow turn himself into the next Drew Brees or maybe Russell Wilson. But I don't think he has the arm or the accuracy to do that right now. But both Brees and Wilson are short QBs.

I agree with the poster that says he'll be a high school football coach in 4 years. And he'll probably date some of the high school cheerleaders as well. Either that, or he'll get into the porn industry somehow.

This. As much time he's spent doing other things I can't imagine he's going to be ready in the fall. QB isn't a position you just walk on the field and perform. There is work to be done with timing and experience with teammates. I would expect a down sophomore year then a good junior year before going pro early.

Same with driving the pace car at a NASCAR race, a la the Alabama QB. Yeah, I'm sure that is an activity any college student would be given the chance to do.

Accuracy is something you can learn if you want. RG3 made a lot of progression in his career. His feet got him on the field at Baylor but his arm got him on the field for the Redskins.

But the if you want is the critical line there.
