    Re: 2013 All-Iowa Team

Well this list settles it. We need to combine the schools so that we have a decent team. Just end the rivalry game and merge into one giant school with 2 campus locations.

Yeah, this is the weakest All-Iowa team I can remember. Pretty deep at RB and TE but other than that it's a mess. This is usually my favorite summer debate.

Combined, the O line, secondary, and LB's would be pretty solid, but other than that's it's your typical ISU/Iowa team for the past couple of years. Not a lot of offense, but a solid defense.

    Re: 2013 All-Iowa Team

Honestly WR's are not bad at all, West, Bundrage and Manly are all solid. Quarterback and defensive line are the only real questions marks with both teams and with combining both teams.

Clark can you tell me about Manly I remember him coming on the scene as a Freshman and tearing it up, he had a very down year last year, what was his deal?

He did have a decent year last year considering the struggles of his QB and the Iowa offense in general.

He's a good slot receiver but he's not the type of guy you can line up outside as your go-to guy.

You're apparantly pretty high on your secondary.

Who's the best linebacker in that group, Kirksey? So we went from linebackers featuring Angerer/Edds to Knott/Klein to Kirksey and George. One of those is not like the others.

I think you said it correctly in your post: solid defense. The problem is it would normally be an elite defense.

No doubt in my mind the ISU seconday will be one of the better secondaries in the Big 12. The safeties could both be all big 12. Easily the strength of the ISU defense just hope we can handle the run.

Those running backs arent really all that greateither, despite the hype they get. No where near 1000 yards last season. And I dont care if they split carries

I think the ISU secondary could easily suffer from lack of a pass rush. It's tough for even the best defensive backs to cover someone man or a d backfield cover in a zone for 6-7 seconds.

I would agree with UNIGuy. I feel our secondary has the talent to be very good. We have solid safeties and I think our corners are going to surprise some people this year.

Just like Velo said though, I don't care if our secondary is top 10 in the nation, if we avg. 1 sack and 2 hurries a game, teams will gash the secondary. Don't get me wrong, it won't be that bad, but it worries me a bit

    Re: 2013 All-Iowa Team

Well UNIguy you did pretty well.

Your biggest miss was probably on the o-line as only Farniok would start for Iowa right now. I'd take Wimberly at runningback with Weisman as his counterpunch. Obviously I'd go Rudock over whoever is ISU's best quarterback.

The best debate is probably at middle linebacker.
