    New Vehicle

After 15 straight import vehicles, I finally bought a vehicle from the big 3, which I guess is now considered an import. It's also my first truck.

2013 Ram. Pretty happy with the salespeople at Stew Hansen. I didn't realize that Dewey, Stew Hansen, ad Southtown are all owned by the same people.

Does that have the 6 speed transmission or the new one? A lot of people are buyin the new Dodges because of the good mileage.

    Re: New Vehicle

8 speed with a hemi so that should help it get 14mpg. It's kind of embarrassing because I don't even know how things like the trailer brake work. I guess I'll have to study up. I really like the tech in it (8.4 screen) My 2008 infiniti seemed very dated on the electronics.

    Re: New Vehicle

No doubt people will give you crap for buying a Dodge, but I like the Ram truck line a lot and lots of people are having very good luck with them. I want to wait until they introduce the 3.0L diesel in the 1500 in a couple years (also with 8 spd trans) but then I'll be looking at one as well. FYI, the trailer brake sends a signal to the brakes on your trailer (assuming your trailer has brakes...) to tell them when to engage and how hard. It will make it easier to tow things that are close to the rating of the truck because tow rating is based on the brakes, frame and suspension rather than the engine.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

The moral: you gain more by not being stupid, than you do by being smart. Smart gets neutralized by other smart people. Stupid does not.

Walk through an auto show looking at the stickers and you soon come to the realization that Honda is the closest you can get to "Made in America".

I've been looking at the 2014 Sport models. The air ride suspension from the JGC is a must have in my mind. Pretty outstanding truck.

    Re: New Vehicle

Hope they got that wheel well rust thing squared away, I have two buddies with 08's(I think) that already have good rust going on in outer panel just above the wheel wells. I had an 11 or 12 as a rental last year and it was pretty nice on my 450 mile round trip in the winter.

Didn't do a lot of research on the subject but the sticker on my daughter's '09 Honda CRV had a higher % American then my '10 F-150. But at least both were assembled in the US.
