    Ranking 36 cheap American Beers

Saw this over at WRNL and found it interesting and decided to post it on CF.

Personally I don't think Rolling Rock smells like 3 fat guys in a 2 man tent

Can't beat Grain Belt. Minnesota brewed with Cyclone colors.

can't disagree with Busch, that stuff got me through college

    19. Busch. Aw, come on, Busch isn't so bad. Let's say you're a stepdad, probably named Ron, and you're a Bud man. Good living—until your Jet Ski needs a new fuel pump and you're fresh out of Jet Ski fuel-pump cash. You think you're ****ed, but then you realize you can just step it down to Busch for a few weeks and bang, back in the lake. Now who's too cool for Busch?

Re: Ranking 36 cheap American Beers

I agree with most of the author's ranking.

I'd put Coors as the worst and I too don't get the love for Yuengling.

I prefer Busch Light for tailgating.

    That article was hilarious.

Wouldn't have made the same list myself, but I do enjoy grain belt

My thoughts exactly. Quantity over quality, and the taste wasn't that bad.

Good enough for me, except it's old mil blue.

Re: Ranking 36 cheap American Beers

Well none of those beers are particularly praiseworthy is Grain Belt appropriately ranked at the top. Yuengling is too low, should be top 5 anyways. Like Old Milwaukee as well. Coors seems a bit high, very forgettable beer if you ask me.

My current cheap beer of choice is Hamm's, $13.49 a 30 and decent taste.

Natty Lite seems to be ranked way to high. I think Busch Light and Schlitz should be Top 15 at least, although admittedly, there are about 15 of these I haven't had.

I'm pretty sure busch light reigns supreme in Iowa, although I prefer to get other options.

Obviously the rankings are subjective. I have to say I love High Life. Always have. And when I was a kid it wasn't considered a cheap beer. I can afford expensive beer and I buy it a lot but I buy just as much HL & HL light.

Now, Beast, Old Mud & BLD serve their purpose but they're ****.

And I'm with you on Rolling Rock, hate it.

Re: Ranking 36 cheap American Beers

Had Grain Belt for the first time at the Twins Game last week. Holy crap where has this beer been all my life? Do they sell it in Ames? Or do I need to stock up before my internship up here in Minneapolis ends?

Also Busch is way too high. Miller Genuine is way too low. Keystone light is way too high as well. Yuengling is better than most of those beers he has above it though.

I think this is an appropriate time to ask what everyone is drinking over the forth, or who has the best 'Merican can?

Bud put out some pretty good cans this year, seems like the logical choice. Last year was Miller High Life.
