    Kirks Press conf

He made it sound like David vs. Goliath. His tone was the fact that Iowa was the underdog and ISU was the Giant. This is the first time that he has shown any "emotion" regarding the ISU game. I was amazed at the fact that he was playing the poor downtrodden underdog who has to fight tooth and nail to beat the dominiating cross state rival. He made it sound like it would take a miracle to win. WOW!

IT was almost comical to hear him imply that IOWA would have to play the game of their lives to win against ISU.

THIS IS A HUGE RIVALRY NOW.

I feel like IOWA is really really gunning for ISU this year.

DEFINITELY. I believe Capt. Kirk has finally realized that he can't just prance into this game expecting a win. He knows the Iowa fan base HATES being defeated by ISU so much and will make a real effort to emphasize the game this year.

This is why I'm concerned about the Cyclones' chances...

Since when does Kurt Farents show emotion? He's damn near a robot. Along with the hypnotizing that he does with his hands at his pressers, hes dangerous. It looks like he playing "wheels on the bus... go round and round" whenever he talks.

    Re: Kirks Press conf

Robert Gallery update for Kirk after first oakland game:
Raiders QB Aaron Brooks was under pressure vs. San Diego in Week 1 and half of his six completions came on quick passes to Randy Moss after one-step drops. The biggest problem? His offensive line -- with four players starting in different spots than they played last season, including rookie Paul McQuistan at right guard, the line looked overmatched. The influence of Hall of Fame linemen Shell and assistant Jackie Slater was supposed to help young blockers like Robert Gallery flourish. But Gallery struggled as much in the opener at his natural position of left tackle as he did last year on the right side. "We didn't give our quarterback a chance last night," Shell said. "If you got breakdowns up and down the line of scrimmage, then you got problems. We have to go back and see what we can do schemewise to make sure we take care of some of those things as we move forward."

I thought he sounded alot like Mac. He just didn't have the "no doubt about it"
    phrases in there.

    Re: Kirks Press conf

The raiders blitz pick up was a joke.

How many times did they try to block Merriman with a back?

The TE had a concussion and didn't know who to block.

I think Gallery had 1 penalty and gave up 1 sack.

I think you are right. He talked about this being a huge game more than he ever has.
