I would say that effectively takes them out of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes.

This move also sends harrison back to the bench but he will make the warriors bench better.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They had a lot of success playing a small-ball line-up with Harrison at the 4. I think it's more likely that they try to find someway to move Lee or have him head up the bench unit. NBA fans are the real winners, because Curry-Thompson-Iguodala-Barnes-Bogut will be way more fun to watch than any Dwight centric line-up would have been.

Report: Rockets still the favorite for Dwight

A source tells CBS that the Warriors believe free agent Dwight Howard is bound for Houston.

Despite giving Andre Iguodala $48 million Friday, the Warriors could still carve out a sign-and-trade with the Lakers. They'd likely be giving up Andrew Bogut's $14 million expiring contract plus one of Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson. Of course, that all will mean nothing if Howard decides he wants to play for the Rockets. Houston has enough cap space to sign him to a max deal outright.

Mavericks told they are out of Dwight chase

The Mavericks have been notified that they are officially out of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes.

"We gave it a shot and it didn't work out," owner Mark Cuban said. "It was truly an experience. ... So it's on to Plan B." No surprise. The Mavericks and Hawks were never realistic shots to land Howard because they don't have the roster to win a championship now. The Warriors, Rockets and even Lakers have far more talent. A potential starting five in Golden State of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, David Lee and Dwight Howard would be extremely formidable.

Holy crap that would be a sick lineup. But I'd put my odds on Houston.

6 Million a year for a streaky shooter who plays NO defense is ridiculous.

He wasn't going to win a title in Utah either and he sucks on defense. Might as well cash in. Playing for a winner really doesn't matter that much for most nba guys, it's just a job for them.
