Sucks that we haven't heard anything.

I hope this recruiting season doesn't turn out to be a case of always a bride's maid and never a bride.

That is hopefully just my paranoia that's built up over the decades of being a clone fan.

247 lists us as warm on his profile so that is something. From a realistic standpoint, I would love to see us land him and Cunningham? With SDW, Thomas, Custer, Bluford and Monte, I think we are good at pg and sg. Adding these guys SF and PF to go with Niang and Hogue

Eh, I'd love to add Vaughn to that PG/SG list you have there

    Re: Jaylen Johnson

I'd be perfectly happy with Cunningham + Custer + Johnson + a juco or unnamed post player (assuming Abu is slightly out of our range).

Give me 1 top 100 big to pair w/ Custer and I'm good. The rest can be jucos or transfers as we wait on Vaughn.

    Re: Jaylen Johnson

It's my belief that if we can keep on stacking top100 players on each class this program will be a powerhouse. We just need to keep stacking class onto class. We saw that with georges and now Thomas and Morris. These guys are a step up from the guards we've been getting(out of high school) and it's evident in the cap city league. It doesn't matter to me whether they're 30th or 90th. So many players end up being mediocre that are high or great that are lower. The five stars are a bonus for me and great if we get them, but as you guys said give me Johnson and Cunningham and I'll be tickled pink.

    Re: Jaylen Johnson

It looks like he also visited Purdue. I hadn't heard them mentioned previously. Not trying to be a downer, but I don't think we are going to get him. I think if he was going to commit, it would have been shortly after the visit. No inside info, just a gut feeling. I think he might get some big offers. I hope I'm wrong. Johnson and Cunningham would be huge.

I watched some videos of Johnson. He is long and athletic. His offense is unorthodox, but I think it's being tightened up. Good passer and good handle for 6'9". He could be on the receiving end of a lot of lobs from Morris. Could you imagine Morris penetrating with Thomas and SDW on the wings, and Cunningham and Johnson in the short corners? And oh yeah, Georges Niang. Holy cow. Crossing my fingers Fred can pull this off. We're on the brink of something special.

I have no idea about our chances but I didn't think he would commit after the visit at all and I read nothing into the fact that he didn't.

This. If he's got interest from us and Purdue, he's got interest from other schools and might want to take his time. Not committing right after his visit doesn't mean anything.

I hope you're right. I think our chances decrease the longer his recruitment is drawn out.

He might like how Fred used Royce. That could be our hook.

    Re: Jaylen Johnson

Purdue sucks! ISU is where its at right now!! Need a bball recruit like CPR has in Lazzard to help lobby some dudes!! GO CLONES!

If you take away first base, they'll just go find a new ballpark to play in.
