    Construction south of Sukup

Does anybody know what they are building just south of Sukup? There are no signs up so I was just curious if anybody had any idea. Thanks.

I was also wondering about the construction there when i drove by the other day, makes sense that it might be a new All Iowa Attack basketball facility. Isn't the current one just west of the construction area?

Is AAU basketball that big in Ames or that big in general? That is a really nice looking facility.

AIA draws kids from all around the state and a few from surrounding states to play, they are trying to make it into one of the premier AAU programs in the country. This will definitely help them do that. Also they are starting up a volleyball program as well which will require more space.

Notable alumni from scrolling their list:

Peter Jok – West Des Moines valley
Mike Gesell – South Sioux City – University of Iowa***
Marcus Paige – Linn-Mar - University of North Carolina***
Adam Woodbury – Sioux City East – University of Iowa***
Harrison Barnes – Ames High School – University of North Carolina***
Zach McCabe – Sioux City Heelan – University of Iowa***
Eric May – Dubuque Wahlert – University of Iowa***
Bubu Palo – Ames High School - Iowa State University***
Seth Van Deest – Bettendorf High School – Drake University***

I’ve grown so much from this program. For me, All Iowa Attack epitomizes what AAU basketball should be- Increasing my knowledge in the game of basketball and developing lifelong skills that I will use long after I take off my basketball shoes. During practices words like ‘work hard’, ‘focus’, and ‘selflessness’ were used a lot last year, but with good reason. All of this is done in such a positive environment. I feel as though Dickson’s gym is my sanctuary…

So, with a big facility like that right next to Sukup, will there be camps or other events that use all the courts?

haha, yea there are a lot of Iowa players on that list. I'm thinking that may be due to the fact that they have been targeting more in-state players than we have been recently.
