Sean Taylor Tribute (Buffalo @ Washington)

In a fitting tribute to Sean Taylor the Redskins defense took the field with only 10 players for their first defensive play:

The Redskins' defense opened its first series with only 10 players on the field. Safety LaRon Landry delivered a big hit on Bills running back Fred Jackson, a fitting tribute.

Wow... I was watching the FOX pregame and Terry had a great comment that BUF should just take a knee... If they knew that WASH was going to field 10 players in tribute and busted a 22 yard run that is pretty cheap.

    Re: Sean Taylor Tribute

Believe me, with the Buffalo offense, 10 players on D should be sufficiant.

    Just an FYI...

Fred Jackson, the RB who got 22 yards on that play and is starting for Buffalo, went to Coe College in Cedar Rapids.

What the Redskins did there was very cool.

    Re: Sean Taylor Tribute

I am a Redskins fan so it stinks they lose him as a player. Sounds like as a man he was making great strides in life which is even worse. I am glad the NFL paid tribute to him at all games today and what Washington did was outstanding. I pray for his family, especially his 18 month old daughter, and all his friends that they can cope with this tragedy.

This is a game that Buffalo needs to win! If they should have taken a knee then it would be 2nd and 10! Would the Skins then let Buffalo get a 1st down to start fresh? Doubt it!

While it is kind of a cool thing to do...you have to live with the results! Just my opinion...

    Buffalo Defeats Washington

Buffalo just kicked a field goal with 4 seconds to go, after Joe Gibbs tried to call back to back timeouts, which resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, to make the field goal try only 26 yards...

    A hail mary try coming...

I was wondering about that. I was watching the updates and it was going to be like a 50 yard try and then I saw he made a 36 yarder.

Absolutely a huge mistake by Joe Gibbs... I feel bad for Washington as the probably could have one the game... A 50 yd FG try is a lot harder!

The 10 men on the field was cool. It even choked me up a lil. Too bad they lost on a last second FG.

Some of you know, but some probably don't, I'm the SID at Coe College. It was a great day for Coe Athletics that Freddy finally got his first start and finished with 144 yards of total offense. Hopefully he'll continue to get snaps.

I was at the bar watching the game and mentioned how bad I felt for the Redskins to lose a game the way they did after the week that they went through.
