New Football Replay Available 2002 #11 ISU vs Texas Tech

I just wanted to post a heads up as I am bored at work and itching for some football. Anyway, this is kind of embarrassing just five minutes into the replay. First ranked #11 at 5-1 and still only 45k in attendance expecting 50k? I know that I was at the game but don't remember it very well. And what in the world was that Wallace for Heisman stuff (ok i can see it kind of) and the Wallace clan. This is also a Kliff Kingsbury Tech team so may be interesting to watch from that point of view.

The production of that broadcast looks closer to 1982 than it does to 2012.

That stadium is/was clearly full. Back then we listed capacity by the number of actual seats. Ever since Pollard took over, we have listed the capacity including 13,000 on the hills.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Should have been 6-0 and top 10. Well at that time in the season, the way we ended that year, we were not a top 25 team.

I remember Craig Sager doing the sideline reporting for this game in a normal suit.

Edit: Just started watching...I had no clue Erin Andrews was also there. Damn...missed my chance.

Why did we rush the field as an 11th ranked team beating an unranked team??

Because Texas Tech always wiped the floor with us. I think we've only beaten them like 3 or 4 times and that might have been the first win vs. them IIRC.

After rushing the field beating Nebraska the game before, we realized how awesome rushing the field was!

The 2 other times we played them prior to this?

This wasn't exactly an historic rivalry at the time. I would bet it had more to do with us having never been ranked that high, the great atmosphere, and The Run. People were just wound up, period.

Was Yelk the kicker on that team? God he had a huge leg before the injuries piled up.
