Now I can stuff my face till I explode without feeling guilty.

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.

    Re: New Disease

It's all about the ability to classify something in order to get benefits of some sort. Pure silliness.

    Re: New Disease

The first story I read yesterday was that they were not ready to classify it as a disease, and then had a bunch of quotes supporting that conclusion. It sounds like those voices were overridden by the powers that be. I'm very curious about all the angles here, and who benefits from this conclusion, and how.

    Re: New Disease

Well, I don't agree with this, but I'm sorry, if alcoholism can be considered a disease, why not obesity? My argument for that is that you can choose to not drink and it won't harm you. No matter what though, even for people with an addiction to food, you can't just quit eating cold turkey. I know people love to make fun of fatties, I know I sure did after a trip to Disney and saw all of them riding around on their scooters, but you have to admit, it would be a hell of a lot harder to stop eating than stop drinking.

    Re: New Disease

IMO anything that can be controlled by stopping the consumption of something should be considered a disease. There is a difference between addiction or lack of will and having an uncontrollable ailment. This is just purely so these people can victimize themselves from something they can actually control. (In most situations)

LOL, yep. Stupidity followed by laziness will be the new diseases. Eventually, everyone will be a victim of some affliction and want benefits.
