CW's Interview with Jamie Pollard - Wrestling Questions

Chris Williams sat down with Jamie Pollard recently for an interview and had a couple wrestling related questions for JP.

EDIT: The last two questions are the wrestling questions, but a good read throughout.

Very reassuring stuff to hear from our AD.

Re: CW's Interview with Jamie Pollard - Wrestling Questions

I think he brought up some great points. Wrestling had some tough times with Title IX and budget cuts but I agree it has "bottomed out". There are fewer D-1 schools offering the sport but those that still do are much more committed and the total level of support is growing. Secondly I don't think that Wrestling at ISU (or the Oklahoma schools, dunno about WVU) is dependent on the Olympics. Most wrestlers who compete don't have any plans of competing after graduation and most college wrestling fans either don't follow international styles at all or do so only in passing.
