Good to hear Hogue prides himself on D. We need someone to step up for that Babb like role.

I think hogue is going to be a very important player bc he can play D, rebound. He is one of those players that will quietly fill up the stat sheet.
I'm not sure what to expect from Bluford.

I did not like to hear that Bluford shot a ton of 3's (which is exactly what I expected), but I always have to remind myself that this is still a summer league.

2 guys with completely different attitudes and games.

Lol K.J. - "Get my range...... I like to shoot.... shoot a lot..... shot the 3-ball, thats what I do" --- he better start off shooting well or else he could quickly disappear from the guard rotation, factoring in our other shooters with seemingly more complete games.

Love the attitude from Hogue. Very rarely do you get a guy coming in talking about being a defensive stopper. I think it even took everyone's favorite defender, Chris Babb, a while to embrace the whole defensive stopper role.

Re: CFTV: Dustin Hogue, K.J. Bluford talk CCL

What stood out to me about KJ Bluford is his length and ability to get off shots. I know he's not that tall but he seems longer than some guards who are 6'2. He moves well with and without the ball and gets to the top of his jumpshot quickly. So much so that I think he even hurried a few that didn't really get as close to going in as you'd like to see from a guy with that kind of shooting ability. Didn't pass much, but still looked good. I would say his playing style can accurately be described as a less-polished SDW.

Agreed. Now if he could learn to speak using about seven less "you knows" per minute he could maybe be a fan favorite as well.

Yeah, Bluford will have to find his role on this team. Granted, this was only one CCL game, but he'll have to prove he can shoot better than that if he wants Fred to give him a big green light. 28% isn't what Fred is looking for from a pure shooter role.

If he can't prove he has a deadly outside shot, he'll have to fit a different role, like playing tough defense, getting steals, or maybe assists or driving to the hoop. Something. But if he thinks he can just stand out at the 3 and shoot 20 three's all night at a 28% clip, he's wrong.

But like I said, it's only been one game. I look for him to shoot better as the league play continues.

Obviously, a bad percentage. Like you said, just one game, so it's not a huge deal yet.

For my money, I wouldn't be surprised to see the freshmen pass him by, just because I'm Kool-Aid high on the freshmen.

Scotty was a fan favorite and he averaged at least 1 "ya know" for every 2 sentences.
