    Interesting NBA Trade?

Apparently the LA Clippers are trying to trade for Boston Celtics' coach Doc Rivers...

Los Angeles Clippers believe they can land Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, according to sources - ESPN

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

On the other trade, the Clippers trading for Dwight Howard would be the Clippers being the old Clippers in my opinion: huge potential disaster.

This is a trade, Griffin, Bledsoe, and I can't remember the third for Howard, is all designed to keep CP3 In a clippers uniform. Get D12 and make sure you have Paul stay.

It is obvious that in trying to do both, they hope kg rubs off on Bible Kemp, making him less of a coach killing vag.

They obviously think that doc will meet Paul's expectations.

The big thing sterling sees is that this is really the first time LA is up for grabs. The Lakers are vulnerable now. Chucker bryant is done. and with stern retiring, there may not be a gift trade looming, like the one for gasol. Kobe will become even more of a distraction when he sees the reality of that roster.

Chucker has always been a terrible teammate anyway. But Griffin is pretty beta, and will be content to be a second option as well as long as he can stay in LA and cashing checks

Kobe did a pretty good job this year of no longer being a volume shooter and being a team player, he isn't done, though his salary is astronomical.

Stern was the one who vetoed Chris Paul to the Lakers, so I don't buy that he favors them.

I think this is a very good move for Boston as long as they don't hire Vinny Del Negro as some media outlets are reporting as the lead candidate to replace Doc. A Bledsoe Rondo backcourt is definitely something you can build on.

He was terrible defensively last year and can't see him improving coming off a major injury at his age. I can't see the Lakers contending for a title in the next few years without making some drastic moves.

First, he spent a couple weeks passing the ball, AFTER he got criticism for shooting too much. Chucker has always been influenced by the media anyway.

Second, you realize that when stern vetoed that trade, the NBA owned the hornets, and was trying to sell the franchise.

And the fallout of that, after all of the stupid comments over the years, like his dream finals would be the Lakers vs the Lakers would have been all brought up IF they put cp3 in a laker uni. Even he couldn't do that, he did manage to get him to la though
To play with yet another nba sensation Griffin.

    Re: Interesting NBA Trade?

Crazy that Boston was refusing to budge off of getting Bledsoe and Jordan for the Rivers and Garnett. If Im not mistaken Garnett just has one year left on his contract and lets be honest he'll probably retire after that so Boston wanted multiple first round picks and the two decent players for a guy that will play a season and for a coach that while he might be good I wouldnt put that much value on his ability when very good coaches are still left on the market. Boston must be thinking of making another run at .500 with no assets after that is smarter than getting a start on rebuilding with assets.

From what I read, it sounds like the Clippers didn't want to include Bledsoe in the deal which makes more sense as to why the deal fell apart. Just getting Jordan, isn't much of a return for KG, they would be better off letting him walk than taking on DeAndre's contact. But it's getting harder to imagine Doc back on the sideline for Boston next year.

Why trade Bledsoe? If they want to do Rivers-Garnett for Jordan-draft pick, I could see it.

Apparently the Celtics are insisting on Bledsoe. If it is true that the Cs are looking for Jordan, Bledsoe, and draft picks for Garnett and Rivers, this is not a good deal for the Clips IMO. Garnett is still good, but ancient, and Rivers will walk away at any time, leaving them with nothing.

I also agree with Linden above - trading for Dwight Howard would also be a colossal mistake. Looks like the Clippers are insistent on returning to form . . .

Trading Bledsoe and Jordan for Garnett and Doc is only a bad trade for the clips if you think Jordan is a reliable post player. I do not.

Trading Griffin/Bledsoe for Howard is only a bad trade for the Clips if you think Griffin is a top 10 nba player. I do not.

If after all is said and done, the Clips end up with a starting lineup of CP3, Billips/Crawford, Pierce/Butler, Garnett, & Howard that would be a massive upgrade for next season over what they had this year and they'd also replace a bottom 10 coach with a top 5 coach.

It looks good on paper, but they better win a championship in year one. I never would usually recommend that a team get significantly older..... UNLESS they can win a championship right away.

I think this would be great for Boston though. They would be getting a LOT younger, which will bode well for them in the future. They are going nowhere with Garnett and Pierce IMO.

Trading for a coach is just weird.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    Re: Interesting NBA Trade?

I don't like either move for the LAC, but keeping Paul should be their priority. If they have to make these moves to keep him then I get it, either way its nice to see them finally trying to be a winner and not conceding the town/division to the Lakers. The thing is, even with these moves, GS is still the best team in that division.
