NBA Players drafted from each state

I found this on a Kansas message board and found it to be interesting

NBA Draft Trends Map: California, NY, Texas produce most NBAers - CBSSports.com

This is since 1998. 8 players is not too shabby for a small population state like Iowa considering we're ahead of states like Arizona, Colorado, and Kentucky.

I don't remember for sure but I don't think Oliver was drafted. Nick Collison and Adam Haluska would both be on the list. I think Ryan Bowen would be included from 1998 as well.

Zero from ISU is depressing. I hope Hoiberg can eventually flip that.

Really adds to the KU hate... Kansas has junk for pro coming from the state but 3 of Iowa's 8 went to Kansas.

Re: NBA Players drafted from each state

    Iowa State

    Vroman - Utah
    Brackins - California
    White - Minnesota
    Tinsley - New York
    Blalock - Massachusetts
    Fizer - Louisiana

    (Wesley Johnson - Texas)
    (Mike Taylor - Wisconsin)

(not sure if I missed others that were on the team at one point AND are on that report)

Re: NBA Players drafted from each state

DePaul has to be the most underachieving team in the nation, throw Illinois in there recently too.

Georgia is the most surprising to me in a positive way, but I guess there have been some really talented Georgia Tech teams pop up. Just surprised they're even with Virginia, NC and SC combined.

Might want to put an asterisk by Wyoming, smallest population but still have one player, probably near the top but also one player from dead last. With three players I bet Alaska is actually near the top...but I guess indoor sports make a ton of sense there.
