CR area Clones, where do you see a lot of used cars for sale?

I've got a nice classic Ford I'm trying to sell that belonged to my dad. Not getting any hits from AutoTrader Classics or Craigslist. My wife pointed out the old people who'd be interested in such a car probably don't even know how to use the internet.

So I'm probably going to look to enter it in some car shows this summer and/or park it somewhere on weekends to get some visibility.

I know there used to be an informal weekend used car lot at CR Kennedy but I thought I heard they shut that down. Is there anywhere else you see used cars parked around town on weekends?

According to this study, 77% of people in the 50-64 age group use the internet. It is an erroneous perception that mature adults do not use the internet.

What is the car? I'm not sure why you think just a certain age group would be interested.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I don't know if you've checked lately but their rates have gotten pretty outrageous. One week in the Penny Saver with a day in the Gazette is more than a 9 week ad on AutoTrader. If you want pictures, their rates get beyond ridiculous.

I have to point out that "Using the Internet" and buying something off of Craigslist or AutoTrader are two completely different things IMHO.

Isn't there a few pretty big car shows at hawkeye downs every once in a while?

No she's a pretty plain jane 4-door. She turns heads when I have her out and about but just not getting any attention online. I'm sure she'll sell if I get her into a couple car shows this summer.

I did have a guy offer to trade me his '96 Lumina and an old Harley for it though!

I am probably not the usual 65+ adult but I have purchased 5 cars and 2 motorhomes over the internet, sight unseen. The 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in my avatar was purchased over the internet from a dealer in Arizona and shipped here to Altoona.

I am not saying that no 65 year old would buy something online I just thought those numbers do not represent what you were using them for.

I was using the internet usage statistics to address this quote in Rux's original post: "My wife pointed out the old people who'd be interested in such a car probably don't even know how to use the internet." So my statistics in my first post were in regards to age vs. internet usage not in regards to internet purchases.
