Interesting stuff. I still can't figure out why everybody is so high on TTU. I know his situation resembles Fred Hoiberg's, but I can't see him coming in and making things a lot better. At least not in one season. And while I thought Doege was a little overrated, he has to replace a 2 year starting QB

It is nice to hear some of their reasoning behind their predictions but KSU winning 9 games seems like a pretty big stretch.

No Colin Klein...sure, they have vampire/zombie coach but losing an NFL linebacker AND arguably one of the best QB's int the Big 12...not sure they see more than 6-7 wins this year. And one of their losses WILL be to ISU.

I don't know if there will be a middle ground with KK at Tech. They will either be bad or very good.

I was a little surprised that KSU won the league last year, but I wasn't surprised they finished in the top 3. They had a bunch of returning guys and their starting QB.

Here is their schedule for this year:

Aug. 31 - North Dakota State
    Sept. 7 - Louisiana-Lafayette
    Sept. 14 - Massachusetts
    Sept. 21 - at Texas
Oct. 5 - at Oklahoma State
    Oct. 12 - Baylor
    Oct. 26 - West Virginia
    Nov. 2 - Iowa State
Nov. 9 - at Texas Tech
    Nov. 16 - TCU
    Nov. 23 - Oklahoma
    Nov. 30 - at Kansas

I don't think they will go 3 of 4 against UT, OU, OSU and TCU. They return 1 starter on defense and lost their QB. It does look like they will have a good running game, but the their passing game is still very questionable at this point. Also their schedule looks brutal in November, I could see them getting a little run down towards the end. If TCU and OU are battling for the conference, they will come to play and KU might be motivated. I think they could win 8, but 9 seems to be stretching it.

Lets hope Texas beats them. So that UT is full of itself before they come here to play.

Texas does not need wins to be full of themselves.

Re: Q&A: One-on-one with an Athlon editor (ISU, Big 12 Q's)

Nine wins appears to be stretching just a smidgen, but it isn't unthinkable. I could ball-park KSU's record this way:
    W- North Dakota State
    W - Louisiana-Lafayette
    W- Massachusetts

    L - at Texas
    L - at Oklahoma State
    W - Baylor
    W - West Virginia
    W - Iowa State*
    W - at Texas Tech
    W - TCU

    L - Oklahoma
    W - at Kansas

*Hate to do that, but I refuse to pick ISU over KSU, like I've done since about '09 until it happens at least once.

Removing Iowa State from the equation for a moment, losing at Tech or vs. TCU is a possibility, for sure. I somehow don't think KS will go worse than 1-1 in those.

Re: Q&A: One-on-one with an Athlon editor (ISU, Big 12 Q's)

I'm pretty surprised they put Richardson as the #10 Big 12 QB, behind a bunch of guys who've never taken a snap.

His completion % struggled, but the guy had 9 total TDs last year and 1 TO.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.
