    Michigan..now what? Ferentz again?

So is Michigan the Nebraska of three years ago and can't find a coach? KF will probably be back in the picture. What a mishandled opening. Pollard did it right at Iowa State.

Michigan is so pompous. They underpay, and thought Miles would come because it's Michigan. I guarantee you they didn't offer him market money, so Miles probably told them to pound sand

    Re: Michigan..now what? Ferentz again?

I think the problem Michigan has is they announced way too early when all of the good coaches are still going to be playing games. I know it was obvious Carr was going to leave but I think they would have been better off if they just didn't announce it publicly until this weekend or next week.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Bill Callahan is open too...I'm sure the Gold and Maize would LOVE that...

Carr announced his retirement after the Oregon game. The job has been open for all but two weeks of the season.

I hope they get turned down by a bunch of people. I've never cared for Michigan.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly take the job...he has been rumored for several places.

I think a lot of the schools that had openings passed on him last year because it was assumed that his goal was always to get the bigger Michigan job and wouldn't be loyal to any program not starting with Michigan in their name.

I just saw something the other day on ESPN where Joe Pa is making 500,000 a year. Do you think he is underpaid? Then Bowden is getting a 1-year 2.5 million extension? I'm sure numbers are off a little bit, I know they aren't exact, as I'm not too worried about it, so here comes neg rep im sure.

The neg rep comment was very curious.

You are right about JoePa's figures. It was noted someplace that (and is usually common knowledge) his salary is a "small" part of what he earns.

I really think if Kelly went from CMU to Cinny to Michigan in just 2 years - he'd have some struggles up there.

Just a sidebar on Paterno, he is one of the biggest contributors to Penn State. Has given hundreds of thousands of dollars of family money to build buildings etc. Don't see that very often.
As for Kelly, if this is THE job for him, I wouldn't blame him for going. Glad we didn't hire him and now wondering if he was going to leave.

I will bet they will buy out Brian Kelly Cincy contract and take him in a week.

There are not that many viable candidate floating out in the public. Kelley was in the mix last year.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

I think Michigan hosed themselves in this deal. If I was Les Miles, I'd be irate with how Michigan has handled things.
