ISU golf bag? Also driver advice

So I am putting together a set of golf clubs and I just got some irons, and now I need to get a bag and a driver.

I am looking at this: Callaway Men's RAZR X Black Ti Golf Driver, Right Hand, Graphite, 10.5-Degree, Regular : Amazon.com : Sports & Outdoors as it seems to be about what I need price wise and performance wise (only I'm getting the 9.5 degree and I have read that the regular shaft is a little soft, so I am thinking about getting the stiff shaft) If anyone had any insight on a good deal somewhere or could recommend a club that would be great.

I am mostly posting this because I want an ISU golf bag. I've looked online but they are pretty expensive, as you would expect. I'd rather not spend $150+ on a golf bag. If I can't find anything I will likely just spring for a Vikings one shown here: Wilson NFL Carry Stand Bag by Wilson Golf - Golf Stand Bags

I sprung for the $150 ISU bag. Nice bag but it wasn't a necessity. I probably would've looked around more but it was kind of an impulse buy.

Also picked up the Taylor Made burner 2.0 the beginning of this year. I love that club. Picked it up from sports authority in west dsm.

If you don't mind buying a used club, look here: Global Golf Long Distance Golf Drivers TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, and More

Bought an R9 that was listed as "Very Good" a couple years ago, it was practically brand new, no problems still.

Yeah the only thing I worry about is having the "pop" in the club be new, but that could not even be an issue as I don't know if gold clubs are anything like baseball bats. They probably aren't, being such different metals.

And man, $150 for a rocketballz driver from that link is nuts. And they say it has never been used. That is awesome. Thanks.

I bought a Rocketballz driver new. I love it. Every time I hit a ball with it it just feels electric, and the ball stays straight with just the slightest bit of fade.

It looks really good. I'm torn between the club I showed in the OP and the mint used one from the link TitanClone posted.

I just compared the Rocketballz 2 and the Ping G25. Ended up choosing the Ping as it was more consistent. I would make sure you get a driver with adjustable loft. It's amazing.

Go somewhere and try the clubs out...especially the different shafts. Then buy.

I really like my R1 driver, though I need to get it tuned to my game.

Definitely sounds like a good idea. I don't swing all that hard so I think a regular or stiff shaft would work fine for me, just not too far in either direction.

Re: ISU golf bag? Also driver advice

I have a R11 and absolutely love it, but this weekend at the Gridiron cook off I hit a X-Hot from Callaway and absolutely loved it. I am going to seriously look at picking one of those up if I can duplicate the results I had. Pulling 160 ball velocity on a regular basis and 270 into the wind on the Trackman with control was awesome. Otherwise, I definitely agree that you need to get somewhere to test several types of clubs to find what works best for you and look at meeting with a club fitter as well. Also if you are just starting out, give serious consideration to clone or used clubs, www.diamondtour.com has nice clone copies of several popular styles for a lot less money.

Whatever you do, don't get a cart or tour bag. You'll thank me after the twentieth time you lug those damn things out of your car and then try to stand it next to your car while you put on your shoes only to have it fall over. I bought a sweet ISU stand/carry bag from a friend who won it at the NCC golf outing. I'm guessing they got it somewhere in Ames. Is there still a Golf USA there?

Titleist 909 D2 Driver I think has a much more solid feel hitting the ball than the TaylorMade but that may just be a personal preference. Also, ISU bag is totally worth it

I believe Calloway drivers also have a very solid contact feeling as opposed to the Tailer Mades.
