Although the TV viewers seem to just love her, personally I could go awhile without Sansa. I suppose they will have to show her, so I am guessing maybe they will add scenes of suitors for Littlefinger to pimp her out to for Winterfell.

They could have filmed a scene with Stoneheart a while ago when they had the Freys and Catelyn.

I'm still thinking this season ends with LS. This episode is going to be about 30% longer than the others this season, so if they move it along, a lot could happen. I bet you see Tyrion kill Tywin and Shae, then they give some time for viewers to settle down with Bran and Arya scenes, and then BOOM...Lady Stonehart.

This season finale is going to be epic. Viewers are used to Episode 9 being the high note, then last episode kind of tying everything together. People are going to freak over Tywin/Shae.

Wonder if they will actually have Stannis show up, or just Jon's capture. Maybe just have the wildlings sound the alarm of impending attack and see Stannis and army in the distance. Hold off on the battle to next season.

I too think there is a good chance of LS. I cannot think what else they would have in conclusion for Brienne, and as you note, they could have had this scene in the can from last year's shooting schedule. Will probably know right away if they replay Thoros in the "previously on GoT" to remind viewers.

And wonder if they will kill Hound. His mercy killing of the man is a prelude to Arya having to make her tough decision.

Re: Games of Thrones Book Thread (With Spoilers)

Just looked at this page, trying to avoid spoilers..

I wanted to ask, I just finished Storm of Swords and am picking up Feast for Crows. It struck me that, based on rate of progression thus far, this could be a very long series--and I see that the author isn't exactly a spring chicken.

Does anyone here know how many books the series is supposed to go--and whether he has a good chance of completing it? I hate to invest much more in a series that might never reach completion.

It's supposed to be 7 books. Word is the last two books are both going to be very long, and it's always possible Martin decides to add more again, I suppose.

It's supposed to go 7, but he recently hinted at the possibility of an 8th. He is no spring chicken, correct, but I'd think if he passed away, someone would pick up the reins ala Robert Jordan/Wheel of Time. There's far too much money in it to leave it unfinished.

As far as the length of the series goes, if you got all the way to the end of Storm of Swordsbefore it dawned on you that it could be a long series, then I guess I don't know what to tell you other than, "yeah, it's long."

Supposedly 7, possibly 8 books. It seems that Winds of Winter is well under the way to completion, and should be released 2015. He should complete, and if God forbid he passed someone would probably step in, as he knows how the story will end, and finish it for him. There is precedent for that type of thing.

The advice I have for you is to read A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons concurrently as one book. The website, All Leather Must Be Boiled, has a couple of options and I am sure there are more. The two books run parallel to each other in terms of Westeros time. Reading both allows you to keep in touch with all of the story lines instead of having to finish AFFC to reestablish contact with Tyrion among others.

I read them separately and am now reading them together and it is much more enjoyable.

I'm of the opinion that the books should never end as long as they continue to have interesting characters. Seriously at the end of the book 8 is it really going to say "And they lived happily ever after."???? It's Westeros for crying out loud. This should be like the Star Wars expanded universe where as long as everything is consistent with past events it all ties together. GRRM could have a dynasty that will last a thousand years.

If don't think any ASOIAF fan is even remotely expecting that, or thinks there's even a chance GRRM will let that will happen, but there's no reason why GRRM can't bring his portion of the tale to close, then let people run with the pre and post history.

You have disagreed with me on an Internet message board. I now must call you names and accuse you of being an insolent right or left wing ideologue incapable of understanding my obviously more thoughtful and smarter analysis of the situation. Be gone with you.

    lol.

I actually would welcome someone tackling the pre-history of ASOIAF. There's so much material there. I'd love a book series set during the time of Aegon the Conqueror.
