Yeah, this kid isn't going to ISU. He's fishing for a name school Which, of course, he's more than entitled to do. Oh and yeah. Helicopter dad for sure. That was known much before the OSU commitment.

Grandstaff looks like a great player. I don't know if Fred will look his way again or not. The calculus may have changed somewhat with different pieces in play than there were a year ago.

    Re: Grandstaff Visiting in August

hmmmm..........maybe he needs to look at a school who ranks in the top 5 in scoring and has lead D-1 in 3's made the past couple years. That seems like a good fit for a kid like him.

Nice to see him and Matty Ice on the wings..........Monte breaking down defenses and kicking it out. Oh and Georges will be a senior (if he doesn't move on to the YMCA pro league ). Hoiberg will have a team that averages 100+ game before he is done at ISU.

Well, if we've already contacted him, then Fred is definitely looking his way again.

It definitely sounded bad, but who knows. Maybe the dad is deflecting some of the criticism Austin would get for de-committing. Hopefully he gives us a look or I'll have to change my avatar again.

Good to see ISU reach out, but if we don't get him, time to focus on others who want to be apart of ISU.

Can a mod update the name of the thread to say he has opened up his recruitment?

    Re: Grandstaff Visiting in August

From a father's perspective, I didn't think it was that bad. Like agclone said, he may just be trying to take some of the heat off his son for de-committing (every fan-base LOVES de-commits).

I thought this series of quotes was funny:

"I’ve always felt like he could play anywhere in the country.” “There are a lot of schools out there that I think he has a chance to play at,” he said “We probably jumped the gun too early.”

In other words, "We realized that we could do better than Travis Ford and Oklahoma State."

    Re: Grandstaff Visiting in August

I thought it sounded bad and I'm a father. That said, not everything sounds like what it actually is. It's Fred's well paid problem to worry about prospect's parents, not mine.

You have to at least give them props for not being stupid enough to remain committed to Ford.

    Dumpster. Fire.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
