    Kinnick CF outpost

Who from the board (aside from my numerous enemies and arch-nemises) is making the trip? perhaps a grouping is in order?

I'll be there, got 3rd row tickets...where is the best area to tailgate? I've never been to a game there.

    Re: Kinnick CF outpost

Parking has always sucked at Kinnick. I must confess to all, for the first 15 years of my life I was a Huckeye fan. My family had brainwashed me...it wasn't my fault.

But I am proud that I am now approching my 19th year of sobriety. I have not cheered nor thought positively about EIU since 1987. I wonder if I'll get a patch next year for my 20th year as a Clone?

Back to topic on hand, I always dreaded the traffic and parking around Kinnick and that spread out mess that they call a campus. Go Clones!!

You'd better plan on leaving central Iowa around 5:30 am.
2 years ago, I spent 3 hours trying go to 1/8 of a mile on Melrose Ave.
    That city sucks for traffic!
They suck for a lot of other reasons, too.

Along Melrose--I like the Magic Bus. Or you could check out Olive Court.

    Re: Kinnick CF outpost

I will be there along with my father in law looking to scalp a couple tickets at cost or slightly below after they kick off. Unfortunately we have a few hawk fans we will be joining for a bit before game time and then working the people for tickets. We are leaving at 4:30 a.m. from Des Moines as we have heard the same on the traffic. I just don't know how I'm going to deal with 66,000 hawk fans surrounding me and needing to keep my mouth shut most of the time.

Olive Court is your best bet...it's the only place, other than Finkbine that out of towners can tailgate without a yearly pass.

Olive Court is the rowdiest place to tailgate for out-of-towners. A lot of Iowa students tailgate there, too.

    I'll be there.

    Re: Kinnick CF outpost

I'm going the night before to party with friends, and tailgate with them. They used to tailgate on the big hillside south of the law building, but that got shut down this year. From what I know, besides that parking lot, Olive Court is the place. Most tailgates in Iowa City are just in people's front yards. It really is no comparison to our tailgating at all. Can't f'n wait, as I have 3rd row seats on the 30 yard line! GO STATE!

I guess I didn't answer the original question...I'm planning to make the trip east. Not sure of the details yet...but will more than likely jump in with some friends on Friday evening.

I've been unable to obtain tickets so far so I'm currently not expecting to make the trip :(

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

    Re: Kinnick CF outpost

I heard one of the big tailgate spots closed. I was a brainwashed Hawk as a child, so i went to games with my dad we parked far away and walked. DOnt try and get close. But we didnt tailgate. You can wait for hours to get to the stadium. A buddy and i had to leave our girls stuck in traffic and run to the stadium to make kickoff once cause we were jammed for miles and no movement.

ps. Dont wear a "f@*& Iowa" shirt in the stadium. They don't think to fondly of people that do. At least that was my experience.

I'll be venturing eastward Saturday. We'll be leaving early and probably tailgate on Finkbine. :Crunk:

Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.
