We are very fortunate. This is starting to look like a new era, I can't wait to see some of these play.

Very good news to hear Emily might take her 40% 3 pt shooting to Ames. At the very least, it's a big upgrade for her in mascot names, going from the "Jugglers" to being a Cyclone. IMO.

I like "Jugglers". It's a lot more interesting than the generic mascots most high schools have.

That's what makes the Freeport Pretzels so awesome.

I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. During the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
“Because,” says the Lord, “Sandpeople always ride single-file, to hide their numbers.”

Must be something in the water in Illinois that fosters odd high school nicknames:

    Genoa-Kingston Cogs
    Centralia Orphans
    Fisher Bunnies

Re: 2014 WBB target Emily Durr visiting tomorrow

    Welcome Emily...

I don't care who started the conversation with Emily to get her to consider Iowa State. It is just good that we are actively recruiting in areas that we have never been in before. If you can't see that the intensity level of recruiting has picked up since one coach left and another was hired then you need to get your eyes checked. We have been getting more interest from a large variety of players than in years past. Good job, BF and staff. One more verbal and we may be done for the year. I doubt we will use all three of the remaining scholarships for 2014.

Again, congratulations Emily, you made a great choice.

Re: 2014 WBB target Emily Durr visiting tomorrow

Durr is putting on a show this summer and Bill may have landed a great one. Anyone following other commits progress in the summer?

The much deserved MVG (Most Valuable GymRat) in the 16U Age Division was awarded to the City Rocks 6-1 Emily Durr. Durr, a 2014 forward / guard who plays for Notre Dame High School, scored a championship game high 20 points and posted a 12 of 24 effort from three point range over the course of the tournament. Additionally, she was a force to contend with on the defensive end demonstrating that the Iowa State commit has the total package.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - Emily Durr, a slender 6-foot-1 swing player, is called by her City Rocks' AAU coach Keith Danzy "one of the most-underrated players in the country." - See more at: NYCHoops.net - Durr leads City Rocks to 16U GymRat Chip
