Just one more thing to make fun of the Vikings for.

It doesn't look like it will deflate, so isn't an appropriate Viking venue. If it doesn't deflate, how are they going to move it to LA?

It's an interesting design. Definitely unique as far as other NFL stadiums. Should be a great venue.

Absolutely love it. Can't wait to watch a game there...

The 2014 and 2015 seasons are going to be brutal to watch/attend at the Gophers stadium. But worth the wait IMO.

Whole-heartedly agree. That being said, the venue is to host events other than football games. I'm excited to visit for a concert or basketball game.

How many games in the last 10 years have been played in -20 with a blizzard? People always exaggerate things with the weather like that. Like all 8 games the Vikings would play would be the worst weather event. Look at Green Bay, I can only remember one game in the last 10 years that I would actually consider a blizzard, and that was a playoff game.

I would assume they could get a final 4, wrestlemania, and big time concerts.

To answer your joke seriously the roof is the steepest and lightest in the NFL which allowed them to add more support and be able to A) reduce the snow that sits on it and B) increase the load bearing capacity.

quick first impression was : that reminds me of one of those super churches... I do like it though... just eerily familiar to some modern church structures, just like 50 times bigger...

Why don't the Vikings grow a pair and play outside? I feel like playing outside in the cold is the image for the NFC North.

Because they would lose the ability to market it as a year round multi purpose facility and would never get the state to pay what they did for it. Also more fans will go to a game indoors when it is 10 degrees out and there are blizzard conditions.

We get it. The non-Vikings fans don't like the stadium.

This has got to be the most repeated question in regards to this subject. The fact is that there was absolutely zero chance for this stadium to receive any public funding whatsoever if it was not a year round facility. The city/state demanded this in order to attract superbowls, final fours, concerts, conventions, etc.... These reasons have been explained many times... You could say that the owners should have then ponied up and paid for the stadium entirely on their own. However, the chance of that happening was about as low as you could possibly think. Not saying it is right, but that is reality. Also, having spent the past four years in Ames then moving back home to Minnesota, the climate change in a mere three hour drive is quite noticeable.
