    Re: Lazerfest 2013....

I am actually pretty mad at Lazer for making this on a Friday.

I will be heading down to St. Louis to Pointfest on Sunday since I am unable to attend Lazerfest.

That's the exact reason why it's on a Friday. It's funny, people would always ***** because it was on a Sunday. Now people ***** cause it's on a Friday. Can't have it both way.

Whats the reason it's on Friday? Most people work on Fridays and not Sundays. I am not wasting PTO and I am not missing a Friday night race. What is most peoples conflict on Sunday?

When you have a big concert festival like Lazerfest, you don't just get bands playing 1 date. Most of these guys are on a big nationwide/worldwide tour. The reasoning for it being on Sunday's in the past was Rockfest in Kansas City was always on a Saturday and pretty much the same bands were playing both festivals. KC takes priority because it's a bigger market.

That's the reasoning for a Friday this year. Pointfest in St. Louis is on a Sunday. St. Louis is a bigger market than Des Moines. Hence it being on a Friday. There are still thousands and thousands of people that will be in attendance today. They obviously don't have a problem taking a day off.

I thought a Friday date was odd too. Why would people gripe about it being on the weekend?

I understand that. I prefer the Sunday date hence why I am traveling to Pointfest. I actually don't have a problem taking the day off work to go, but I wasn't going to miss my Friday night race for it.

Sure many did prefer Sunday. But this Sunday is also Mother's Day and people had problems with that in the past. Again, it's tough making everyone happy when it comes to a big event like this.
