    Possible NCAA rule changes

NCAAM Panel votes for late-game replays - ESPN

    About damn time.

Oh, and be sure to check out the examples listed that might bring about these changes. Excuse me for a minute while I throw up again.

Last night, I was driving home from a trip and was listening to a Cleveland radio station. These guys were so happy that they a bad call finally went there way (a valid home run by the other team at the end of the game was called a double which kept the game from being tied). Seeing us have two of the five examples on the NCAA BB list made me feel like a Cleveland fan (prior to last night).

The need to change underneath the column that says "What Caused the Changes" to simply read "ISU getting *d in the *"

I feel for Cleveland fans but I don't know their history.

I do know Boston history and the only comparison I can make are that those calls led to the Bucky Dent moments of our season.

Elijah's improbable heroics followed the KU charge. Craft's improbable three followed the Clyburn charge.

The Cleveland announcers were pointing out how often the Yankees benefit from close (or even bad) calls. Just begs for a KU comparison.

    Re: Possible NCAA rule changes

Part of me thinks Iowa State will be on the bad end of a block/charge rule change late in a tight game under the new rule, and we'll have bitterness that it would have gone our way under the old system, and it won't undo the unfortunate calls that happened last season.

As far as the arbitrary standards for replay review — when it's "important" and when it "isn't" — I'll delay that discussion for now.

    Re: Possible NCAA rule changes

with this new rule, I am sure there will be about 5 games next year that go to replay and calls get reversed against ISU. this cannot benefit us.

    Re: Possible NCAA rule changes

Freakin' idiots screwed up the ISU-KU example. Georges wasn't called for a block. The "blarge" was a no-call. They called him for a foul in the scramble for the loose ball after the missed shot. This detail would make the case for a change even stronger.

I hate it when supposedly "professional" journalists screw the pooch like this. Pretty much like an article talking about how Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Lincoln in an attempt to impress Jodi Foster.

Pretty much my first thought.....this will just cause some bizarro world call to go against us and cost us a game.

This also reminds me of just after the ISU/ Florida State football game the NCAA putting in replay shortly after (maybe even the next year?) ...when if it was in place....Senecca scores that td.

    Re: Possible NCAA rule changes

While they are at it.....They need to change the Jump ball rule when the offense maintains possession. Why they don't get a new shot clock is crazy to me.
