Re: BLOG: Custer has different role on new AAU team

Anyone know what his rivals/espn rank is? If they're asking him to put up more points and be more of a scoring threat and assuming he does, does he jump up in the rankings?

Might depend on what position they rank him in. If he's ranked as a PG (which he should be) then they'll be more interested in assist to turnover ratios, steals, and then scoring. So probably not much change, and could possibly drop.

However, as an OVERALL ranking, he may rise if his point average increases.

So, like all thinks ranking related, it's a bit subjective depending on how you want to look at it.

BTW - Nice avatar - i feel like I've seen that girl somewhere before...she could be the twin of my avatar ;-)

Does anyone know how CC stats compare to those of Jacy Holloway from his HS days? Jacy was from Topeka and won 4 straight state championships.

I'm a little confused. He said he is going to be more of a scorer than a distributor than he was on high school team but his stats show that was already more of a scorer than distributor by averaging 22 pts and less than 4 assists

I'm guessing he'll drop out of any top 100 lists. He's playing on a poorer team and won't get watched by many of these scouts. Mo-Kan Elite is usually pretty good and plays in most of the top tourneys like the Nike EYBL circuit.

It seems to me it would be better for him to be playing against the best competition available in order to hone his game

I don't think the competition will be any different. He will still be playing in the same level AAU tournaments. It's just that the players on his team aren't as talented

Ah, no he won't. They did play in the Jayhawk Invitational, but won't be part of many of the top national tourneys. Mo-Kan Elite for instance is part of the Nike EYBL that only includes the top AAU teams from around the country.

Even so I don't think that hurts him. If anything it betters him. He will have the ball in his hands more and he will have to lead his team. He will be guarded by the best guard defender on the opposing team and will have a lot more pressure on him. If anything Clayton is challenging himself by joining this new AAU team and you always gotta love a guy that is up for a challenge
