Ray Harryhausen - dead at 92

Special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen dies at 92 - CNN.com

His work holds very special memories for me. Jason and the Argonauts, Mysterious Island, Clash of the Titans, the 7th Voyage of Sinbad. I loved watching his movies growing up.

The guy's special effects were awesome:

"What a horrible night to have a curse."
    -Simon Belmont

"Please bury me with all my stuff, because you know it's mine..."
    -Master Shake

"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."
    -Lorem Ipsum

The skeleton battle in Jason and the Argonauts was one of our favorites as kids.

yep, not to mention the Talos encounter. And the giant crab from Mysterious Island.

And pretty much all of Clash of the Titans.

I forgot about that until I googled it. What those guys could do without all the computer generated stuff was incredible.
