    College Football HOF and ISU

Not exact on this- by my count, ISU has Ed Bock (only player) and coaches Pop Warner, John Majors and Earle Bruce as well as alum John Cooper.

From what I have observed the past few years in selections, I hope for these Cyclones to make it one day soon. I think most have a realistic case one day. (conversation anyway)

    Troy Davis
Dexter Green (similar to Ted Brown in this class)
Mike Stensrud (one of the best DL of the 1970's)

    (stretches-but deserving)
    George Amundson
    Dave Hoppman
    Tom Vaughn

I am not objective on this- I see many former Cyclones with better careers than many who are already in. Just my opine.

Isu has had 6 former coaches (head or assistants) go on to win national titles at other schools: warner, majors, mack brown, chizik, cooper & jimmy johnson (at least that my brother and I could come up with).
I imagine all but chizik should/will be or are in the HoF. Also the former long time a&m coach was at ISU for a while as an assistant...never won a championship but he has a similar resume to Bruce stumping on his name though.

I believe Pete Carroll was an assistant in the 70's as well. The A&M coach I believe you're referring to is Jackie Sherrill. Sherrill and Joe Paterno were bitter rivals, probably closer to enemies. On why he hadn't retired, "It would leave college football in the hands of the Jackie Sherrills and Barry Switzers"

Troy Davis should get in some time in the next few years. He won't ever in my opinion. Never became a big name and was quickly forgotten once he left for the NFL.

What about Matt Blair? I don't know his college stats off the top of my head, but he would seem to be deserving.

Matt's college career was only two years (JUCO) and he was not even a first team AA so he is unlikely.

Honestly, I think that the CFB HOF is a sham if Troy Davis isn't in it. Two time Heisman finalist, only RB ever run for 2000 twice. It isn't supposed to matter how their NFL career turned out. I'm sorry, but if someone like that isn't in there, the whole thing is a fraud.

This. the man was flat out robbed of a Heisman. Troy did something guys like Barry Sanders and OJ Simpson never accomplished.

over 4300 yards and a 5.6 yard per carry ave in pretty much two years. that is some very good stuff. plus being the only weapon on offense, no one could stop him.

Tommie Frazier played exactly 1 game in the pros -- in the CFL.
Danny Wuerffel only appeared in 25 NFL games (and threw 22 INT and just 12 TD).
Percy Snow played 40 games at LB for Kansas City and Chicago.

Troy Davis played in 46 NFL games. As of 2011, he ranked 15th in CFL history with over 6,700 career rushing yards.
