    Hoiberg's new contract details

From the Ames Tribune" Big Buyout Part of Hoiberg's New Contract

His buyout went up for a college job, but not an NBA job.

...ISU will also provide Hoiberg a car “representative of a head men’s basketball coach in the Big 12 conference” and pay his initiation and annual membership dues at the Ames Country Club...
So the important question is... What is a car representative of a head men's basketball coach in the Big XII conference?

What's the initiation of Ames CC...$2000?? Whatever it is, it isn't that big of a purchase. Now if they bought him one at either Glen Oaks or DMGCC...that would be interesting.

    Re: Hoiberg's new contract details

I see the buyout saying that college's are going to really have to want him to approach the buyout amount. However, for recruiting purposes having your name constantly connected with openings in the big leagues is a good thing for CFH and Iowa State, so no need to scare off NBA teams and his name being linked to every opening by having a huge buyout.

He has a heck of a selling point, you want to play in the NBA, you play for CFH. He still has every NBA GM's contact info on his cell phone and they want him and value his opinion. Until he actually leaves for the NBA and coaches, he has a ton of goodwill and the only good thoughts on how he would perform, he hasn't flamed out like so many other coaches (Floyd, Calipari, etc)

Well respected college coaches that the NBA wants or trusts you can count on your fingers. Coach K (not going NBA but is Olympic coach), Billy Donovan (head coach for a day in the NBA, then Altman'd) Hoiberg, who else?

as for his car, simple, a Delorean!

"The contract includes a number of performance bonuses, including $250,00 for every Final Four appearance"

A F4 appearance would be the biggest accomplishment in the history of ISU athletics, so I would think the bonus would be higher. But it's been this way for every ISU coach.

"We are first and foremost an educational institution that values integrity, honesty and treating others with fairness and respect".

-ISU President Gregory Geoffroy; circa May 2003.

Yeah, but CFH's going to do it multiple times, so that $$$ could add up. We don't want to break the AD's bank, you know.

Those old El Dorados always make me think of that line in the Live and Let Die Bond film where Felix Lighter instructs headquarters to "put out an APB on a white pimp-mobile".

Add a gigantic bag of cash in the back seat and a girl you're banging and just hired as an assistant in the passenger seat, it'd be SEC.
