747 Plane Crash that happened on 4/29/13

Crazy. The driver didn't even say a word as it happened.

Man. I wonder what made it wobble like that. It's like it lost all power and was just suspended in air like a kite.

One of the comments (yeah, I realize we can't trust YouTube comments...) mentioned a load shift. It'll be interesting to find out an actual cause (if one can be determined), but a shifting load sure makes sense. Get something not tied down well enough and it slides towards the *** end during takeoff, and then the whole balance is thrown off.

Another gem from the YouTube comments: "Are they OK?"

Youre right. A load shift makes sense. But, seriously.. What did they do? Pull the trucks in, put on the parking brake and say good enough. Someone has some questions to answer after this.

There could have been a failure in one of the parts of the anchoring/tie-down system.

That's crazy video. I have styrofoam glider...it follows almost exactly the same path when you throw it with too steep of an attack angle...

Leery on this video. National media is not confirming anything. Odd.

Re: 747 Plane Crash that happened on 4/29/13

I get it... there's sources, al beit weak ones from a couple of blogs, and it very well may be legit. But there's a reason most mainstream media outlets aren't touching this. My station definitely knows about it, but we likely won't run anything on it because we can't get it confirmed.

Video looks real to me, but is it being misrepresented at all.

That thing stalled bad. Don't know if the load shift caused it, and engine failure, or and malfunction in the autopilot. I've crashed many RC airplanes and a stall on them looks identical to this, except there is no explosion when they crash.

Re: 747 Plane Crash that happened on 4/29/13

It's hard to tell from the ground like that but a load shift makes sense. It could cause the tail to drop and put the jet into a stall (which is pretty obvious). It's hard for a 747 to recover from a stall at < 1,000'. Either way...that's some crazy stuff!

Let's ask the pilot what happened.
