    4/29 weather thread?

Radar starting to blow up over central IA. Nice little spring thunderstorm about to hit. Could be a loud night.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

I feel like these summer threads just can't live up to the winter ones. No debating the severity of the storm, some guy named Earl's graphs, and the usefulness of meteorologists for 17 days beforehand.

Yeah there's no question the build-up for the winter ones is much more fun. I'm a fan of sitting a watching off my west-facing deck and watching the clouds roll in. Just starting to hear some rumbles in north ankeny.

granted I love severe storms. I want to ride with a storm chaser sometime. Now that I live in an apartment I'm much less terrified than when I lived on a farm and had cows and baby calves just hanging out and not able to be quickly moved in case of something really bad.

Sitting in the 3rd floor of the library and left my car windows down a crack at the Hort parking lot....... Question is, do I care enough to close them?

Nothing TOO exciting right now. Risks tonight are going to be hail and wind. It should congeal into a complex as it moves NEward.

There's been a few 0.75"-1.0" hail reports out of central Iowa so far mainly from around Ogden and Boone.

Displaced a bit further north towards my area. Kanawha in Hancock co. had half dollar size hail but that storm has long dissipated. Just don't have the energy to keep storms going up here.
