    Favorite older music

I define "older" as music which came out before I was really into music (pre-1982 or so), but you can define it as you will. Thought it would be an interesting way to find new (old) music. Here are a couple that brought this topic to mind.

They're on my list too- just curious, was your first exposure to them through the endless infomercials on TV? I think I saw that thing 100 times at least, and eventually I started liking them.

Buffalo Springfield - Mr. Soul (stereo) - YouTube I loved the lyrics to this song.

I've really been into the Kinks recently, specifically the Lola versus Powerman album from 1970. Really, really incredible music. Obviously you've got the title track, Lola, which is a classic, but some of the other songs are equally as awesome. Stangers for one: Just an incredible song about how love is not the only thing that can drive a relationship. Fear, desperation, and mutual benefit can also play a part.

"What a horrible night to have a curse."
    -Simon Belmont

"Please bury me with all my stuff, because you know it's mine..."
    -Master Shake

"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."
    -Lorem Ipsum

Mine are really old. Anything by Glen Miller and the big band era or alot of the songs by the Rat Pack.

My grandparents retired and moved down to Table Rock Lake. I would spend a lot of the summer down there with them and go fishing everyday with my grandpa. We would get up and go fishing at 5 AM everyday and when it got to hot to be on the water we would come back to the house and hand tie bucktail jigs while listening to his big band or crooner tapes or we would watch VCR tapes of WWII which were full of big band music (he was a WWII fighter pilot). And once it cooled down in the evening we would go back out fishing til after dark. He died in 2004 but I still listen to his favorite songs all the time and they still are and always will be my favorite.

Supertramp, EXCLUDING the Breakfast in America album. Crime of the Century, Even in the Quietest Moments, and Brother Where You Bound are excellent albums.

My first two albums (I was 12) were Black Sabbath - Paranoid, and Alice Cooper - Killer. They are still two of my favorites to this day. Alice Cooper - Halo of Flies - YouTube Black Sabbath - Fairies Wears Boots - YouTube Couple more obscure (but excellent) tunes from said albums.

I agree on Bad Co. Paul Rogers has amazing vocals, and Mick Ralphs (former Mott The Hoople) was a great song writer.
