He was recently able to get out of his signed commitment to Minnesota and signed with Michigan State. But don't school typically have something in place where you cannot transfer or sign with another school in the same conference? I always thought that was the rule in the Big XII but after the Jarrod Uthoff deal last year, maybe that's not the case in the Big 10?
Sounds like this guy found an exemption. But if I remember right the Big 10 rules were that you could transfer within the conference but you couldn't be on scholarship the year you sat out. That's of course if the school doesn't put the whole conference on the restriction list.
