    FLASH

I was very disappointed when I learned my new Android phone couldn't get Flash - hence, no Cyclone.TV. Considering a Kindle Fire tablet - again no Flash. I've heard there are fixes for the Fire - I don't know about the phone. It seems there are a growing number of devices that can't fully access some web sites. Are web sites likely to discontinue Flash or will Adobe make this available? It doesn't sound like good business for Adobe to try to sell Flash to websites and deny it to mobile devices. Console me with Cyclone.tv for my phone.

Flash is a huge CPU hog that would drain battery like none other on mobile devices... Until Cyclone.tv starts using HTML5, we may be out of luck.

    Re: FLASH

If you really want flash you can install it directly from adobe though they have removed it from their site.

    Archived Flash Player versions

Then you just have to use an android browser that supports it.

Websites have begun to start phasing out Flash in favor of HTML5. And Adobe is no longer developing flash for mobile devices. It will be a slow process for some sites though.

Kindle Fire does have flash. I just watched baseball highlights on it and caught many basketball games on it this winter.

I believe it is turned off initially in the browser settings. But all you need to do is turn it on. It's there.

Edit: Seems the newer models including Fire HD do not have it support Adobe Flash.

It depends on the Kindle Fire. Newer (Current) versions do not come with Flash, but there are workarounds similar to what is described for the phone.

    Re: FLASH

Some phones include their own browser which sports flash. I just got the HTC One and its built in browser (not Chrome) supports flash. I just had to turn it on as it was turned off to start.

    Re: FLASH

Firefox supports Flash. When I want to view Flash content on my phone, that's what I fire up.

    Re: FLASH

The app for iOS allows me to watch Cyclone TV and they obviously do not have flash. Is the droid app different?

    Re: FLASH

    @ChrisWilliams

How hard would it be to convert this site to use HTML5 for its videos? It is frustrating not being able to watch videos on my phone. And using other browsers on my phone is not a great experience. Chrome rocks on android.

Even Netflix is going towards HTML5 once a new DRM tag gets ratified and implemented.
