Very interesting. I'm content at 10. The ACC just needs to hope FSU, Miami, and Clemson are happy making considerably less than their rivals....

Jeremy Fowler ‏@JFowlerCBS 2m Can confirm #ACC moving to grant of rights (first by @DavidGlennShow). League presidents are clearing with their legal departments.
Or sends it flying again. It will have to be ratified by all schools, do all of them want to stay in the ACC? I would imaging this could speed things up if there are teams not willing to sign on with this.

This could be the next step in the Maryland lawsuit drama. The ACC wants to try and root out any other defectors, and thus having the smaller schools turn on the pressure.

This. It seems like a good way to see who is on board and who is still looking around.

Re: ACC moving to a Grant of Rights

If there is any resistance to this from FSU, GT, or UVA. It will make their intentions clear.

My guess is the Maryland Lawsuit is going to end up around 20 million in an exit fee. And the ACC would love to have the other teams locked down with a GOR when that news hits.

No ACC team who has a B1G offer and is waiting for the lawsuit conclusion is going to sign any GOR.

Re: ACC moving to a Grant of Rights

Grant of Rights = You leave the conference, conference retains the rights to your games. Big 12 has a GoR, if Iowa State leaves tomorrow we forfeit broadcasting rights of our games to the Big 12 until 2023 or whatever year. It could be Michigan @ Iowa State on October 3, 2018 and the Big 12 has the rights to show it.

Wait, we play Michigan in 5 years? Is it a home/home?

    2018 looks like:
    09/01 - South Dakota State
    09/08 - at Iowa
    09/22 - Akron

Agree with some of the sentiment above...no way would a school who hopes to get an invite to the Big 10 sign their GofR...
