    Elijah Carter

Iowa State has contacted Carter's AAU coach per Adam Zagoria. Carter led Rutgers in scoring last year as a sophomore with 15 ppg. My guess is that he'd have a great chance to come in and start next year at Guard.

Looks like he was at Brewster about the same time as Ejim. We may have a connection there.

    Re: Elijah Carter

I would like this kid- he is really good and has spent two years as the focal point of opponents defensive game plans at RU.

I also think it is realistic to think he could get a waiver to play right away given how the Rutgers mess went down (I really think it is 50/50)

    Re: Elijah Carter

I think he could help out a lot next year by taking off some of the pressure on the talented but young back court we will have.

suppose there could be an outside shot he could play next year considering he transferred because his coach was beating players...

    Re: Elijah Carter

Yeah he would have to be cleared to play next year but with the Rutgers situation I think the kid has a good shot at being cleared to play.

    Re: Elijah Carter

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he the kid that Iowa was flirting with but Fran never offered. And he basically came out and said he would have gone to Iowa had they offered him? Now, he's got all kinds of high major interest. Seems about right.

Must be interested in the very similar coaching styles of Rice and Fred.

    Re: Elijah Carter

This is a quality transfer. I watched him play a few games this season and he would make a huge impact for us. The thought of him and Monte running the point makes me giddy

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

Back off, he is doing it the right way.

Looks like a tall order. Won't get excited unless we get a visit. No point in doing so.

No kidding. Someone needs to tell Coach K and Coach Donovan to clean up their acts regarding this transfer business.
