    Spring Game

Is there going to be video of the spring game anywhere? Cyclones.tv just shows audio. Why would we not put it on video?

What? Why no video? I was planning to watch today :(

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

I believe the reason they are not recording it is:

    1) We do not fill much of the stadium for the spring game as is. Make it convenient to sit at home and it could make it worse.
    2) There are a lot of other activities that the video crew have going on today.
    3) See #1.

As an out of stater I think we all need to complain more. It should be streamed on the internet.

Probably an attendance thing and a secrecy thing. Equal parts.

yeah, not feasible for some of us. I guess I thought my premium for cyclones TV would cover that.

i don't buy this as most schools offer this availability.
i think this is crap. I was excited to watch but with kids and being hours away, I don't have the option to make the trip to watch in person.

I don't buy it either because give them a few days and they will have to whole thing online for replay to anyone with a cyclonetv subscription.

Do they put that up? Was cyclones.tv even around for it last year? I'm guessing they just show the good plays and highlights.

    Re: Spring Game

At the end of the day I think ISU fans are too smart and practical to ever really get that into spring games. Unless you live in Ames/Des Moines you are crazy to go to the spring game. Even for those in the area, this isn't a event to block out from your busy lives.

Let's face it, seeing the team going against each other will tell us nothing about what they will be like next season. All it does is give fans a taste of football excitement to drive ticket sales before the season. Admission is free so it is not like you are helping the football program out financially Really the only thing a poor turnout for spring game will hurt is possible recruits perception, but if that recruit were to come back for a real game I'm sure his opinion will change.

I personally think the reason we have poor turn out for spring games is because we are dead serious about our football. We are educated enough to know that it really isn't that important. To back this up I offer Nebraska as exhibit B

I really don't know about Cyclonestv, but CloneZone had a replay. They had highlights for free, but if you had a subscription you could watch a "condensed" (pauses between plays removed) of the spring game.

I always saw it as showing we had more meaningful things in our lives. Outside of football, what does Nebraska even have?
